?CG Technology is ready for some football, are you? With the 2017-18 NFL schedule revealed last week, the Las Vegas based sportsbook operator released odds for each and every game which are scheduled to hit the board and available to bet Thursday.
Well technically it is just Weeks 1 through 16 since there are too many variables when it comes to setting Week 17 lines (like teams that have already clinched a playoff spot and are resting starters for example), but you get the point. Football is on its way back. These lines will hit the board at CG Technology sportsbooks at 12 p.m. Pacific Time Thursday.
A quick look at the lines shows us a couple of obvious (and sad) things.
The defending Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots open as favorites for every game between Weeks 1 and 16, facing an average chalk of 6.6-points per game. The Pats also host the Atlanta Falcons in Week 7 for a Super Bowl rematch as 6.5-point home faves. The Patriots were 3-point faves when they last met in February, in what was the most epic comeback Super Bowl history, coming back from down 25, to not only win, but cover as well.
On the other end of the spectrum is the Cleveland Browns, who narrowly avoided the humiliation of becoming just the second team in NFL history to go 0-16 and the oddsmakers at CG Technology think it will another long season for the Brownies. Cleveland isn't favored in any of their games this season, getting an average of 7.2-points per game. The closest they come to getting chalk is a Pick when they host the New York Jets in Week 5.
