I always enjoy putting a little pizza money down on a small lottery play that touches all the NHL playoff games. It’s nothing near a full unit, and doing it regularly can cut into potential profits, but there is nothing wrong with a couple of three-leggers on Wednesday night with a solid slate.

For my first batch of NHL picks, I’m hitting on a trio of role players who I’m very high on tonight to contribute and who are also all paying even money or better on their respective prop Overs.

For the second long shot play on Wednesday, April 24, I’m pairing a three-pack of dogs who still have good matchups for points as the Bruins, Knights, and even the Kings all have shown they can score in their series.

NHL playoffs parlay picks April 24

  • Bertuzzi Over 2.5 shots on goal + Benn Over 2.5 shots on goal + Henrique Over 0.5 points (+890 at bet365)

  • Marchand Over 0.5 assists + Hertl Over 0.5 points + Kempe Over 2.5 shots on goal + Kempe Over 0.5 points (+986 at bet365)

Best NHL parlay picks for Wednesday

NHL parlay pick 1

Tyler Bertuzzi Over 2.5 shots on goal

Jamie Benn Over 2.5 shots on goal

Adam Henrique Over 0.5 points

Tyler Bertuzzi is playing in his first home playoff game and has been one of the best Toronto Maple Leafs skaters in the series. He’s been shooting more as opposed to the end of the season when everyone was trying to get Auston Matthews the puck. He’s on the top power-play unit and even if William Nylander does draw back in, Bertuzzi deserves to stay thanks to the PP scoring in Game 2. Bertuzzi had five shots and averaged 3.11 shots on goal per game over nine career playoff games.

Jamie Benn collected seven shots on goal in Game 1 and the Dallas Stars need to win tonight. The Stars’ captain had 24% of his team’s shots and his team dominated possession. With the goaltending all of sudden a question mark in Jake Oettinger, there could be a great game script for Benn to continue to shoot with the first power-play unit and the exciting third line.

Adam Henrique finally has some point markets and they are falling quickly. He’s playing 5-on-5 with Connor McDavid and Zach Hyman, so he is guilty by association. In his first playoff game with Edmonton Oilers, he posted a goal and an assist in 14 minutes. His Over 0.5 points at +130 is also a great play.

If you’re really looking to boost these odds, move every total up one (Bertuzzi and Benn 4+ shots, and Henrique 2+ points). That’s a +10,722 lottery play.

NHL parlay pick 2

Brad Marchand Over 0.5 assists

Tomas Hertl Over 0.5 points

Adrian Kempe Over 2.5 SOG

Adrian Kempe Over 0.5 points

All three of these teams can put up points tonight.

Brad Marchand has been the best Boston Bruins skater in the series and is the reason why his power-play unit is getting the first shifts with the man advantage. He’s collected an assist in each game so far and the Leafs’ goaltending is not something I’d call intimidating.

Tomas Hertl is the play here as he has the better offensive opportunities for the Vegas Golden Knights. He is playing his 5-on-5 minutes with Mark Stone and Chandler Stephenson and working with the top power-play unit. He had a goal on the power play in Game 1 and Oettinger looks to be on one of his coolers. I like goals in this series and more scoring is coming tonight.

I need to double up on Adrian Kempe’s props as he is -190 just for a point. He is the target for the Los Angeles Kings, though as he plays more than any other forward and is the offensive drive for the team. He had two points in the opener, including a team-high five shots on goal.

If the dogs are going to do some damage, and they can, these are the three skaters to target.

Today's NHL same-game parlay picks

Our betting experts have scoured through today's NHL odds to find your best SGP bets for each of the three games on Wednesday's playoff slate:

Bruins vs Maple Leafs same-game parlay (SGP)

Tyler Bertuzzi anytime goal

Maple Leafs to score first

Maple Leafs TT Over 2.5

Grabbing the game's first goal will be crucial for the Leafs, who will feed off the home crowd's energy. Plus, Toronto scored first in 58% of their games this season.

For my final leg, I like the Leafs to go Over their team total of 2.5 goals. Despite being held to just four goals through two games, the Leafs have 4.04 expected goals per game. Tonight, they’ll need to convert more of those chances to win. Perhaps William Nylander’s return could give them a boost.

Read Mike DiStefano's full Bruins vs. Maple Leafs predictions.

Golden Knights vs Stars same-game parlay (SGP)

Mason Marchment Over 1.5 shots on goal

Stars moneyline

Under 5.5

I’m expecting the Stars to play a more responsible game on home ice in Game 2. They were 26-11-4 at home during the regular season, while the Vegas Golden Knights were just 18-17-6 on the road.

There were only 3.15 expected goals at 5-on-5 (per Natural Stat Trick) in Game 1 and 5.03 in all situations. Jake Oettinger should bounce back with a strong game for the Stars in net.

Kings vs Oilers same-game parlay (SGP)

Oilers moneyline

Under 6.5

Connor McDavid anytime goal

Sure, the 11 goals in Game 1 jump off the page, but a lot went on that led to the high-scoring affair. Edmonton scored three times on the power play and added an empty-net goal, while two of the Los Angeles goals were lucky, to say the least. One Kings tally was a double deflection that went in off Oilers defenseman Darnell Nurse’s foot. Another followed Cody Ceci’s stick-breaking off a won neutral-zone faceoff that left his defense partner flat-footed and out of position for a golden Los Angeles 2-on-1 opportunity.

I’m also targeting McDavid to find the back of the net after finishing Game 1 with 0.5 individual expected goals on six shot attempts and an individual high-danger scoring chance. McDavid only has 12 goals through his past 34 games with a 9.8 shooting percentage since the All-Star break, so after he posted a 15.6 SH% through his first eight seasons in the league and a 16.6% mark across his prior five trips to the postseason, I expect statistical correction to kick in for the superstar.
