"For a state without legal online casinos, New Yorkers have some good alternatives. If you travel upstate there are plenty of live casinos with great action. If you prefer playing online, you can play sweepstakes casinos right at home, or you can hop over the border into NJ, PA or CT tand play at any real money online casino 24/7."

"I really like Mega Bonanza so far. The games are good, And I win often. I would like to see more games that aren’t the same as every other social casino. I also think they should broaden their cashout options. Sometimes it takes almost up to 72 hours for cash, but gift cards is usually next day. But other than that. This place is great to play and win at."

"My first time playing on this platform, I won!! The customer service staff was very helpful and guided me through redeeming my funds. I would highly recommend Mega Bonanza."

New Yorkers can access hundreds of real casino games and claim sign-up offers and promos at over 75 (and climbing) sweepstakes casinos online.
Most sweepstakes casinos have very big game libraries with hundreds of real casino slots and table games plus exclusive original gamess.
Other advantages of using sweepstakes casinos while waiting for legal real money online casinos to arrive in NY:
Is DraftKings casino legal in New York?
Not in New York state, no. You can, however, cross the border into New Jersey, Pennsylvania or Connecticut and play real money casino games at DraftKings Casino and other legal online casinos.
You don't have to be a resident of those states to play; you just need to be within state borders. See the current DraftKings casino promo code to claim your casino bonus and open your account right now in NY.
Can I play FanDuel Casino in NY?
You can't play at FanDuel's online casino for real money in New York state but you can in PA, NJ, and CT. See here for the current FanDuel Casino promo code and sign up now in NY. See more online casino options in those states here:
New York online casino bonuses
Until real money casinos arrive in New York, your in-state bonus options are limited to sweeps and social casinos, which typically offer both free Gold Coins and free Sweeps Coins as welcome bonuses.
Once you've started play you can also typically claim extra bonuses including:
Daily login bonus Free coins when you log in each day.
Daily bonus drops Follow on social media for bonus drops.
Refer a Friend bonuses: If a friend signs up and create an account with your referral code, you'll get free coins.

How to start playing NY online casino games
Getting started at an online casino is straightforward, regardless of whether you are signing up for a real money casino or a sweepstakes casino. Follow the steps below to get in on the action:
Select an online casino
Pick the top New York sweepstakes casino above or create multiple online casino accounts to try out different casinos to see which games you prefer.
Register online
New Yorkers can register online anywhere in the state. Expect to share your name and address and confirm your identity and location.
Claim a bonus
Most sweepstakes casinos offer no deposit bonuses to new players. New-player offers include Gold Coins and bonus Sweeps Coins.
Boost your bankroll
Sweepstakes casinos allow players to purchase Gold Coins which can then be used to wager on games. Sweeps Coins, which can be exchanged for cash prizes, are often included as a free bonus when Gold Coins are purchased. Navigate to the coin purchase page, choose which package you would like, and submit the relevant banking details. Popular sweepstakes payment methods in New York include credit cards, debit cards, e-wallets like PayPal, and online banking, and it is likely these will all be available if real money online gambling launches.
Choose a casino game
Browse through the library of games and choose from a selection of classic table games and slots. Read over the house rules if you’re playing a game for the first time.
Start playing
Once you’ve chosen your casino game, decide how much to wager and get playing. Consider setting time and money limits, have fun, and stay safe.
Redeem your SC for cash prizes
If you win enough Sweeps Coins while playing at a sweepstakes casino, you can exchange these for cash or other prizes. Once available in New York, real money online casinos will require you to confirm your payment details before you can withdraw any winnings. Bear in mind that there might also be some wagering requirements if you are trying to withdraw bonus winnings.

Currently, sweepstakes casinos accept several methods of payment for coin purchases. All of them process your transactions securely and with no added fees.

In the meantime, NY sweepstakes casinos and social casinos offer a very similar gameplay experience and give a good indication of what game types to expect.
Consider the variety of games offered by a casino platform to determine which best suits your playing style. Here are some of the game types you should look out for:

Online casinos provide access to a whole world of exciting slots. NY gamblers will be able to choose from classic, progressive, and fruit slots for a chance to win big. |

|
Poker fans will love the offerings at online casinos in New York. Play the likes of Texas Hold’em, Omaha, seven-card stud, and five-card draw until your heart’s content. Whichever variation you choose, poker is one of the most popular games at online casinos. House edge from 1.5%. |

One of the most celebrated gambling games, roulette involves the player predicting where a metal ball will land when the roulette wheel stops spinning.
