The Winnipeg Blue Bombers try to turn their season around as they head to BMO Field on Saturday to face the Toronto Argonauts.
These were the two best offenses in the league last year, but their attacks are struggling in 2024, and my Blue Bombers vs. Argonauts predictions are betting on a low-scoring game. Here are my CFL picks for July 27.

My analysis
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are shockingly the lowest-scoring team in the CFL, averaging 21.3 points per game. While star quarterback Zach Collaros and All-Star running back Brady Oliveira are still in the backfield, the talent around them has fallen off a cliff.
Winnipeg had the highest-graded offensive line in the league last season according to PFF, but rank just eighth this year. Its WR corps has also been decimated by injuries with three starters (including a pair of All-Star caliber receivers in Dalton Schoen and Kenny Lawler) on the IL.
The Toronto Argonauts have one significant change on offense compared to last year, but it's a big one. Reigning MOP winner Chad Kelly is serving a lengthy suspension, and while backup QB Cameron Dukes kept them afloat for the first two games, he's been exposed over the last month.
Dukes doesn't have the arm strength to attack downfield and has averaged just 179 passing yards per game and 6.4 yards per attempt in the last four contests.
Dukes was replaced by Nick Arbuckle late in last week's loss to Hamilton, and both QBs have been getting first-team reps in practice. Arbuckle was given a shot at the starting job in Toronto back in 2021 before getting the same opportunity in Edmonton and Ottawa before flaming out in each city. Regardless of who starts under center for Toronto, points won't come easy.
Blue Bombers vs Argonauts same-game parlay (SGP)
Not only do the Blue Bombers have the second-worst offensive line in the league according to PFF, but their defensive line is also ranked No. 8. On the other hand, the Argos have the highest-graded offensive and defensive lines in the CFL.
Toronto leads the league in rushing yards per game (129.2) and yards per carry (5.4), while the Bombers surrender a league-worst 119.9 ypg on the ground. Ka'Deem Carey has a CFL-best 429 rushing yards in six games this season, and he should be able to gash Winnipeg's defense.
The Bombers have yet to win a game on the road this year, while the Argos are 2-1 at home and went an incredible 8-1 SU and 7-2 ATS at BMO last year. Expect the Argos to control the line of scrimmage and lean on their ground game to pick up a win against the reeling Blue Bombers.
