outside the ring mayweather is a punk, but in todays world of reality tv people seem to like all of his bullshit, weather you like or hate him every boxer and boxing fan is interested in his fights, inside the ring, floyd is great, one of the smartest and best defensive fighters of all time, but has deffinitly slowed down over the past couple of years, to me he is still the second best fighter in the world behind nonito donaire, at this point though I do not believe that he actually wants to be a fighter anymore, if he did he would fight more than once per year, boxing is a job to floyd at this point, he fights because it is really all he has ever known and obviously has to support his lavish lifestyle, he does deserve respect for all that he has accomplished, even though it could of been much more if he had better people surrounding him, not just a bunch of "yes men", telling him what he wants to hear as opposed to the truth in many cases. floyd lives in his own world with his millions, and all of his "yes men" and has seemed to have lost touch with reality, even with all that, he is a first ballot hall of famer and probly one of the top 30 fighters of all time, although he had the skill and talent to do so much more.
