Alvarez vs Baldomir

Is Baldomir in this for the pay check or is he gonna give the kid a fight??

Looking at Alvarez ITD, thoughts?

Alvarez is S T R O N G. In fact, he is probably way too big to fight at this weight for an extended period of time. Baldomir is a solid vet and has only been stopped once. However, Alvarez should be able to get him out of there. Jose Cotto was a much tougher opponent imo, and Alvarez was able to break him down. I don't see why Baldomir would be any different.

 It isn't like Alvarez is going to have to go looking for him - he'll be right in front of him all night long.

I've never seen Baldomir hurt or rocked (great chin) but I'm on Canelo by TKO. I think the kid is a bad-ass with good power and a GREAT boxing IQ for his age. Canelo can hurt you to the head or body. He's fast for a Mexican. He knows how to set up punches and stick to a break-you-down gameplan.

I think the ref stops this somewhere around 9th round.

Not saying Baldomir can win, but I have a feeling that this fight might be closer than people think.

Alvarez ITD? Against Baldomir??

Have you guys ever seen Baldomir?  He has as sturdy a fighter as there has ever been in the history of the sport.  This isnt Jose friggin Cotto, a jr welter, we're talkin about here.  Baldomir is a full fledged light middleweight with a granite chin.

Sure, Alvarez is going to win but to bet on a knockout against a guy who's basically never been hurt in his career is bordering on retarded.  If you're gonna be this fight take the 1-1 odds on Canelo by DEC, it's most logical outcome.

Bordering on retarded? Why do you think an inactive fighter that was a lifetime sparring parter is being brought in? He is going to get knocked out. Even if he doesn't, he is going to lose every single round.

Baldomir doesn't have to be hurt to be stopped. I see the ref stopping this one.

I've seen Alvarez and he's green. Not sure on Baldi getting stopped.

I dont know what I'm talking about b/c I don't see one of the sturdiest fighters ever being stopped?

You're the one who is reaching here, not me.  Could Baldo be saved late? I suppose, more of a mercy stoppage but he's definitely not being KO'd on the canvas.  Good luck on your wager.
