Looks like Bute by decision imo. I'm trying to get a copy of the fight, but from what I say Bute shined for 11.5 rounds. Curious to what others are saying....

Before you lay any money,  see how Benjy Esteves Jr (the REF) does fights. This is the key to the winner.

 If you look at the whole fight Bute doesn't fight on the inside, he lands a good combo and HOLDS.

The ref never warned him for holding into late in the fight. Literally some very nice combos and as soon as Andrade got close.. "Holding".

Another thing to note, Bute threw a total of 3 body punches (and landed all 3)  for 10 rounds, round 11 at the end they both exchange so a few shots are landed.

Andrade landed threw and landed 2 body shots until the 10th.  I feel this is mainly because Bute refused to fight on the inside, literally held Andrade  after every combo.

Now in the 10th Bute got caught with a left hook LOOK closely.. his eyes were glazed after that ONE punch. He lost stamina also.

If you look at his corner, after round 9 until the last... They KNEW Bute was getting tired, and you could see it in his eyes.

Bute Reminds me of a cheap knock off of Joe Calzaghe, Joe is much more aggressive, and goes to the body.. and stamina is NOT an issue.

Andrade is a hybrid of Margarito/Gatti .. (unlike Margarito he throws straight punches, and has the heart of Gatti.

Now onto the 12th, Bute got hit with some punches, but he literally was already out on his feet from exhaustion, the REF did give him many extra seconds and I do believe Bute may have NOT beaten the 10 count if the ref didn't stop the count, go tell Andrade to step back and then continue his count.. (many seconds later).

By the time the ref came back the bell had rung and Bute was on his feet.

After seeing this I would  say do your homework on Referee Benjy Esteves Jr, if he doesn't allow holding.. Andrade wins this.

Andrade may be one dimensional, but he has an iron chin, and tons of stamina. He took a beating from rounds 6-10 ( round 4 was decent for him, and he won round 5) but after that he was a punching bag but knew deep inside he could get to Bute.

Again.. after seeing this fight, the only reason Bute won is because he HELD on the inside, if he didn't hold he probably would have been KO'd. He doesn't go to the body and he slaps his punches a lot.

This fight is in  Quebec City Pepsi Center(Home for BUTE), BUT the key to picking is Benjy Esteves Jr, personally Bute will get Ko'd  IF  he isn't allowed to HOLD. If he  holds 50 % less ... in this fight.. he will get KO'd by Andrade.

Remember this is home town for Bute. If you think Esteves can be fair  please watch his fights and see how he handles HOLDING.

Personally, I feel Andrade has Bute's # he knows stamina,chin issues are a problem.. which is two issue Andrade doesn't have.

I know the decision for Bute seems like a no brainer, but watch the fight a few times, after 9 Bute was TIRED. Remember when boxers who use their feet get tired, they become targets themselves.

I would take Andrade by KO/TKO (small play with these great odds) 5dimes has +352 for Andrade Inside the distance. This seems like an excellent value.

Again do your home work on the ref Benjy Esteves Jr.

Andrade was robbed! 

I'll take Andrade at +280....

Bute UD.  -140 on pts, I'll take that all day.  Andrade will land some good shots but generally get schooled for 12 rounds.  The fight is in Montreal, you know Bute isnt getting the short straw from the referee.  He is Montreal's cash cow.

Played a small hedge on an Andrade KO in Rds 10-12 at +1050.  If he scores a stoppage, it will be very late. 

Andrade wasnt robbed.  If you understand the sport (and many do not), you would know that since Bute got knocked down as time was expiring, all he had to do was stand up before 10 seconds.  While the ref was screwing around, Bute was already on his feet at 8 seconds from the time he got knocked down.  Fight over.  There would be no more punches thrown so he didnt even need to be responsive, he just needed to stand up.  He did.  Fight over.  Watch the replay again, he got up at 8, and thats with an instant count once hitting the floor.

I only went into Estevez's 3rd page on boxrec too...who knows whats on the rest of it.

Bute seems very motivated to win this fight ,  I took Bute by decision , considering Bute as a better boxer and in his prime

Like I said, Bute is Canada's cash cow, if he loses this fight (or any fight in Montreal) it wont be because of the referee.

Actually I was wrong on the Diaz.Morales fight. It was the decision that irked me. Nothing shady from Benjy Estevez Jr...just skimmed the fight.

After further review Benjy Estevez Jr let Diaz get away with some stuff. Looks like Benjy is not a fan of over officiating and lets the guys fight out of the clinch.

Mcnulty that's the thing ... there wasn't really clinches, pretty much Bute HOLDS to a point where you have to be broken up (won't let go until the ref does it).

This way he goes back on the outside and has to make Andrade reset to get inside.. and what does Bute do again? HOLD

When Bute ran out of energy from all the pressure and holding.. and using his feet .. he became a dead duck! Jermaine Taylorish? lol!

Cannot blame any bettor taking Bute by decision,-140 or Andrade by KO/TKO (anywhere up to +400) because the fight is in Bute's home town and if it goes 12... (the full 12) the bet  is useless anyways as Andrade's only shot is stoppage (just like he admitted in the interview after the fight).


With these two props, it's better than laying all that cash on Bute as the chalk is too high, and knowing coming into the fight KO/TKO is the only shot.. +400 is a real value.

My question is this.. did Bute fight the perfect fight the way he wanted? (Until he got tired). To me it seems like he fought his fight until he got tired... but in boxing when a true warrior smells blood he goes after it... and all the credit to Andrade he went after it.


I believe the fight will look the same but unfold quicker, Bute isn't a counter puncher, he throws combos and holds.. cannot fight on the inside.. and doesn't go to the body. To break a man with an iron chin, chop him to the body, but wait that requires.. being close enough :)

Usually the counter puncher in the fight always wins, being he adjusts from the first fight.. since there is NO counter puncher in this fight... cannot expect much different except one thing.. Andrade knows he can HURT Bute, and Bute KNOWS inside he cannot hurt Andrade.

Easy fight to pick only two options and hard to argue with either you lay the -140 believing the better boxer will prevail (won't get tired or caught).

Or Take almost +400 on a small play and go with the ending of the last fight, to me the PUNCH didn't matter, it was Bute .. out on his feet from STAMINA dead on his feet.. that scares me!

I don't believe he was robbed, it was just very .. "weird" what the ref did. In regular speed it looks as if Bute was gone.. the ref could of easily waved the fight off as he was out on his feet and that punched snapped his head back.

But he is the champion and he must be given every chance to keep it, the ref did the right thing, but Andrade didn't get robbed by the ref as BUTE did get up at 8 BUT  the extra 8-9 seconds let the guy clear his head and the ring was holding him up not his feet.

It's what the referee said AFTER the fight (hope you downloaded it from the link I gave you). He said no I don't believe Bute would have beaten the count, he then said Andrade robbed himself by coming of the Neutral corner.

He clearly stated he believed BUTE wouldn't have beaten the count, this is why there is a re-match. I do believe he beat the count, given it was the 12th and all you have to do is "stand" and the fight goes to the cards.. I need to be fair and say BUTE DID beat it.

The ref also called the tangled feet/push a knock down.. which clearly wasn't. If you look at the score cards and take that 10-8 round away.. from BUTE on two cards.. the fight was ONLY a few points difference in a fight where I believe Andrade only won 3 rounds.

I think bettors have an excellent chance on both sides, -140 or +400  small play(remember it's 4-1 for a reason).

Yeah the books cleaned up, almost all the money was on Bute by easy decision or like my pick (+400 by KO).

Congrats to those who actually bet  the chalk and won.

The window closed on my fingers and didn't get to fire on Bute. That leg injury thing was irking me cuz there was no specific info and the info I did find the doc said it was like serious. Prolly just b/s to try and avoid Andrade.N/A CANCEL'
