I caught his last fight with cassim ouma. IMO ouma was the better fighter and got hosed on the decision. tonight's fight was a real snooze. Spinks did display his dancing skills rather vigorously. you think he's going to forgo the traditional trunks for a tutu in his next fight? What a box. if he can't hang at this weight class he needs to drop some pounds or reconsider his career....all "technical skills" aside.

No way in hell Ouma got hosed in that decision. I am by no means a Taylor homer, but if you scored that fight for Ouma then you do not know how to score boxing.

The worst was in the 80's...Wilfredo Benitez against somebody who I can't recall. I remember watching it at Caesars Tahoe on a large screen. It went the distance and was incredibly boring because they danced the entire fight.

It was the second worst fight I've ever seen.

Lets not forget the Calvin Brock snoozer last year. . . fighting some Russian guy that I can't remember off the top of my head (i know he was one of two fighting brothers, Karmazin?). WOW. I won a bunch on that fight, and I was still pissed. Not to mention, I believe that they fought it outside - making them fatigue even faster. . .
I think that was the same night Joel Julio suffered his first defeat too. . .

Yeah that was Brock's fight against Timur Ibragimov (Sultan's cousin). Timur wouldn't throw a punch, I think I fell asleep around round 5.

Taylor LOST to Wright... and I will go round for round if you wish. Wright EASILY won 8 of those rounds.
Then Taylor gets on the podium and says he blew through Wrights defense? Taylor is a punk... I mean PBF is a punk too, but at least he is good. Taylor has been "beaten". It made me sick to see him talking smack about Wright. He didnt beat him... it was a draw! And personally you lost. Man up after he fights BHop and take the rematch. He wont... hes a coward and KNOWS he lost.

No, I completely agree here. I had Wright winning 8-4 initially, upon watching it a 2nd time had Wright winning 7-5. I think that Maxboxing's Steve Kim has given Taylor a fitting nickname in his most recent article calling him "Bad Decisions" instead of his real moniker "Bad Intentions." After Saturday night though I believe a case could be made for "No Intentions", because all he did was pose and give respect to a guy who couldn't crack an egg.
I thought there was a point in the fight Saturday night that Manny Steward was so pissed he was about to get out of the corner and put on a headset. Taylor has gone backwards, he doesn't seem to be sure of himself in the ring or what he is there to do.

To further add to that point, I also remember the comment made by Lampley or Lennox: "Steward said that Taylor is an animal in training camp" when they were contrasting how poorly he was doing in the ring. I know I'll never have my money on Taylor again unless it's obvious since he seems to not have his head in the game, and is obviously "in it for the money."
I can't really pinpoint his fighting style or who he is either. I have a hard time saying he's a boxer, bomber, quick, etc and sticking to it, because his last 4-5 fights he's seemed to fight them all differently - and not in a good way. It's like he plays to the level of his opponent, and tries to fight their fight instead of imposing his will and setting the pace. He looks like a beast out there, and I would think that he could seriously start doing some damage if he fought using his strengths and throwing his weight around - but I don't feel he's got the heart to do so. Larry Merchant - and I hate ever admitting he made a valid point - made one when he said that Taylor fights like he doesn't want to get his hair messed up. . . which is about as best as I could describe it myself.
I'll be looking to fade Taylor here on out, and I doubt I'll ever have my money on him again. . .

Tim Smith of the New York Daily News reported today that Taylor will be getting rid of Emmanuel Steward as his trainer. I guess Taylor is trying to make someone else the scapegoat. Maybe Taylor wants a yes man in his corner; Steward was going off on him Saturday, but any good trainer would have done the same exact thing.
On another note, it looks like Dibella might try to cash out with Taylor (his contract is up at the end of the year) on one last easy touch that will make money and sell tickets. Reports have surfaced that they are interested in bringing Tito out of retirement (what a joke) or fighting Duddy (he will be the one selling the tickets) at MSG.
