Canadian former World Welterweight Champion Arturo Gatti has reportedly died.
According to the officials in the public safety department, Gatti
was found dead by his wife Amanda in the Brazilian city of Pernambuco
where the couple was celebrating their honeymoon with their one-year
old son.
Amanda Gatti reportedly awoke to her husband laying dead on the
floor of a condo that the pair had rented in Northeast Brazil. Gatti
reportedly had marks on his neck and head that were made with a blunt
instrument. Brazilian authorities are investigating the suspected
homicide.

Not the best boxer you'll ever see, but one of the best fighters. Watching him take all that damage to Gomez and Baldomir at the end of his career was tough enough. RIP.

ESPN article eluded to "marriage problems" between Arturo and his wife.
Damn, that would be two famous athletes in one week to go down due to woman-issues. I think we'll find out as this goes along that Gatti's wife was in on this.

His wife strangled Gatti while he was sleeping just heard it in the news here in vancouver canada. His wife has been charged with murder man that's a coward way of killing somebody stupid women dont trust them now. Ill make sure no more asking women to sleep over at my place or ill end up dead . women are getting crazy!!

Are you serious? You can't actually believe that she strangled him, unless when you're being strangled in your sleep you don't wake up until you're dead. Trust me, if she tried stranggling him in his sleep, she'd be the one to wind up dead. I'm most certain there was a third party, she's definitely guilty, but I can assure you that she is not the one that strangled him.

I believe his wife strangled gatti just like Mcnair when he was sleeping and his girlfriend from Iran shot him to death.
I just hope this doesnt go into a ipedimic about wifes and girlfriends killing there husband or BF while at sleep.

At first glance you would say it's impossible. The you realize Gatti comes home piss drunk and she strikes him on the back of the head while he's sleeping.
Doesn't make a difference how skinny she was she's an adult, anyone who is unconscious cannot fight back and can be strangled.
I knew as soon as I heard the news she either did it or had him murdered. Luckily Gatti was good friends with Aceltio Freitas who knew the situation and is making sure it's being fully investigated as most murders are not in other countries.
NO forced entry, so either she did it or she let the person in, that's still a stretch as video says NO one was let in. Her defense is "She's too skinny to kill" .. :)
I hope this doesn't happen more often .it's the price Mcnair paid for dating someone so young, and Gatti also.
I don't buy that Gatti was divorcing her and that's why she did it.. she would of received half of his cash and a great life style for their kid so killing him for that reason makes no sense.. unless there is a MAJOR life insurance policy involved.
