Berto WILL face Pacquiao

Berto just got a 1st round ko. I knew Arum was talking about him as a strong candidate for Manny's next fight. The fight will be made. Berto said he's had his appetizers and wants the main course [Pacquiao].

Berto's handspeed is at least equal to Manny. His power is superior. Does he have the skills to pull it off? I think so. So does Manny's camp. They will avoid him like the plague, imo.

Please don't forget that this is the same Berto that lost to Luis Collazo and received a gift from god (Lou DiBella)

Not happening

Pac-man has a few choices.

Berto unless they can make people forget his other fights will be tough to sell on a PPV even with Pac-man.

Sergio Martinez fans would gladly buy, but it will be at a catch weight and Martinez is not a youngster.

Now you come to Marquez who personally deserves this shot he's been chasing Manny for years, besides Eric Morales he's the only guy beat and or have a great war with.

Why might this happen? Because We saw what Marquez will look like at 147 he cannot carry the weight he will be slow he will be setup for a "Catch weight" he will once again be asked to  GAIN weight which he has a shown past 130 he doesn't carry the power or more importantly his SPEED and accuracy.


At 135 he has used his heart and his boxing skills to win these fights and they are not even A level fighters (Juan Diaz) and Kastisis ..not exactly guys who are great boxers and not known for defense and you CAN see even at 135 Marquez gets pushed  around.

So which of the 3 fights here makes sense for Pac-man? Easy Marquez III at a catch weight,slow Marquez down by adding some weight to him.. and Manny rides off into the sunset.

Fans will remember Marquez for all of his fights, and believe me they can show the previous two fights of Marquez/Pacquio and fans will eat it up  believing Marquez has Pacman's #.

While Berto makes most sense on paper he's young natural 147 pounder (his whole life at 147, heck even higher earlier in his career).

He has the speed, movement, if he keeps his head on straight,,, he  has the tools to win, not sure about heart. 

I believe Roach will steer clear away from Berto because he's a live dog.

I believe Sergio just cannot make that catch weight and he needs to stay where he is.

Marquez is the most profitable fight out there and less chances of losing if  Roach makes the conditions perfect (say 145 catch weight).

 I believe Marquez wants this fight so badly he may take even less of a purse just to fight.

berto is one of the most overrated guys out their, he is a good offenisve fighter, but that's where it ends, his defence and chin will not hold up against A class opposition, good offensive fighters like berto always get overrated by the public on the come up while faceing weak opposition, berto beats most B level guys, but will lose to all the A guys, if berto gets the pacquiao fight he will be exposed in dramatic fashion, I don't think that this fight will happen thought, to me manny will probly fight 3 more times, mosley, marquez and mayweather not necessarily in that order and then focus 100 percent on his political career

IMO they will somehow make Mosley vs. Pacquiao.

Its still a big money fight but the intrigue of it isn't the same after Mosley's past 2 fights.

Berto has some defensive issues in my opinion but hes a semi decent opponent to prepare Pacquiao for Mayweather.

Mosley is the right chioice for Pacquiao. It's a fight he would have very little chance of losing.
