box-weather won't even step in the ring w/an aging fighter because he's so terrified of actually losing a fight.
sorry box-weather, but your transparency is way too hard for anyone to deny
Let me preface by saying I'm not a fan of Mayweather (not even a little)
But I don't think "Money May" is even remotely afraid of this fight. In fact, I think he welcomes a 38 year old Mosley with open arms. Why Not? It's the second largest payday out there at the present time. And, against a guy that in the last 3 - 4 years has produced some pretty inconsistent performances. Yeah sure, Shane produced the performance of a lifetime last January vs. Margo. But I also saw him look equally unimpressive versus Mayorga ( a human pinata) the fight before that. As Jim Lampley recently said calling Pacquiao's last fight: "If you're gonna bet on one commodity, bet on SPEED." Shane was 3 times as fast as Margarito in that fight and large/strong enough to negate Tony's biggest asset, which was his ability (as an enornous welterweight with a high volume punch output) to simply walk his opponents down.
This is a totally different dynamic. Despite Shane being extremely fast at any weight, he is NOT faster than Floyd and not nearly as crafty. Mosley will want to "fight" and PBF will box him similar to the way he fought Judah.....he'll outpoint him and make him look old and embarrasing along the way. Don't get me wrong, I respect Sugar Shane and think he is a great fighter, but I just don't see his style being that big of a threat to Mayweather at this point in both of their careers.
On a side note, and I don't mean to sound unsympathetic to Andre Berto's situation, but what an incredible coincedence in that Al Haymon also manages him (Berto). This is really shaping up to be a nice score for Golden Boy Promotions. They've potentially, in a heartbeat, recaptured the drawing power come the night of March 13th. What a huge counterpunch they could deliver to Arum and Top Rank here. Was this there M.O. all along since the termination of Pacquiao/Mayweather ??
If it wasn't, somebody would have to convince me.

Ok, so I've read some other places that a potential fight between Mosley and Mayweather wouldn't happen until late April or early May. Why ?
I understand everything needs to be finalized and the fight needs to be promoted. But I didn't think Floyd and GBP were backing off the March 13th date in Vegas. I thought in so many words they were saying "Fuck You" Bob Arum.
Hell, Mosley is ready to fight right now ( as far as being in fighting shape) and PBF is never out of shape. Granted, they would need some time to prepare to fight one another but hell, Money May was willing and able to fight Paulie Malagnaggi or Nate Campbell on that March 13th date. Why not Shane ?
Didn't Richard Schaefer make it clear that the 13th was the intended date for Mayweather and that he wasn't backing off that date?

The fight is being put off until May so that Mosley gets older and more rusty so Mayfeather has an even better chance at beating him.
Unfortunately Mosley doesn't fair well against defensive minded fighters and we all know Mayfeather isn't going to stand toe to toe.
