   I've been on Covers since it's inception but stopped using it while I traveled. I understand now why a few people pipe in to tell me all the real MMA/Boxing handicappers left this site and post elsewhere. I do most of my posting or reading elsewhere anyhow.
  Even though thesoulpurpose and myself had harsh words early on and disagree on a few things, he now at least contributes to doing a real pre/post fight analysis, unlike others who just trash other people or post Icons. For example: I did a one time post on handicapping basketball vs football and got walktheline out of his shell after his brother Ortiz quit, and his alias Qncky1 follows him up with a post. I see DeHoyos post countless threads on Mayweather being 40-1? Mayweather is undefeated last I looked. It's rare and said as a few people here a very little to offer in the area of Boxing.

A couple of things here. Does this post contain any selections or any analysis of a fight? Of course not.

TOOK 42 minutes for a response as it was a test, I ask a boxing response and you have little to offer, but a personal attack and you come out the woodwork. Don't worry as I'm sure your alias Qncky1 will pipe in but not yet since your exposure. Yet, I asked you about Ortiz and it silence... your pick that had value was a joke and had 1% chance. You posted wait and see... then after your beast of a fighter you quits. Your +500 Value shows the stupidity of the general public after a quick HBO 24/7 advertisement. LOL - Dehoyo got hurt cause he wants Boxing History to recognize his personal vengeance for Mayweather's loss, but he WON??? walktheline, what have you ever added positive besides a terrible play on Ortiz? any thread on a breakdown... that is factual. I see few posters and the only one who clearly does a proper breakdown is thesoulpurpose, as far as our disagreements go, he knows how to, and if you listened just a lttile you would have kept your cash that Ortiz burned for you. Always smart to bet on inferior fighter without heart! He got paid 2mil+rev... you watched how hard he trained 24/7! Keep using that as your fight news.

The moderators here can easily trace an IP address and its place of origin...mine being Mexico. I highly doubt that walktheline is posting from here. Also, I had PBF(-260) and PBF individual rounds 8-12(+6600) and walktheline had Ortiz. I have lurked here for many years and only joined the forum to congradulate BODIO on his baseball picks. Qncyk1, you mentioned that you are from mexico, I have heard numerous stories about who is the most popular fighter from your country of all time, is it olivares, chavez, kid azteca,  who do you think is the best, I would go with ricardo lopez and if salvador sanchez did not die so early it would most likely be him, it's also tough to go against olivarez when he was at 118,  and does any lightweight beat chavez the night he fought edwin rosario,   so many greats, tough to chose the best.   also mickey garcia is looking like a good prospect coming up as well, my only question with him so far is his chin, If he can take it better than his brother robert he will be tough to beat.

im not from mexico. im an American living here. lets just say i love Mexican women. i wasnt here during the era of fighters that you mentioned so i really cant comment. here in the Northern part of the state there are still many photos with chavez sr. and morales in the sports bars but i would also assume that there is a huge following of barrera in Mexico City, where he originates. morales was huge in Baja California when i lived there in 2006. not much jmm, margo, lopez, sanchez or castillo as far as i can remember. morales had machisimo which appeals to the Mexican society which probably accounts for his popularity. it is widely known in tj that he partied heavily(coke and booze) and that one of his ex gf's later became a puta at adelitas. i think she actually bore his child.

i will say this. if you are favoring pac over jmm wait until Friday or Saturday to bet. in my experience, there will be heavy action on jmm(Mexican money is loyal money) and i think the Caliente.com.mx line will get as low as Paq-250/Jmm+200, if not lower.

barring some unforeseen circumstances, this is a 10-20 unit fight for me.

shout out to mexican woman as I am dating one right now. she says that olivares was the most popular of all time where she came from, just west of mexico city and that her grandfather used to speak a lot about kid azteca. as for pacquiao vs marquez, seems like a no brainer that pacquiao wins it, my only concern is that manny will come in unmotivated as he has much bigger fights on the horizon, marquez has slipped a lot since they last fought and certanly manny knows it add to the fact that this is the only fight that marqueaz cares about, desire is more important in boxing that anything,  but having said all that I still like manny big.  the only question is by stoppage or decision.

Qncyk1: First off, I stated I was on Covers (reading, not posting), and I use a dynamic proxy not for this site or computer, but for wagers, bank accounts, and when poker sites still allowed high stakes poker. Your "Seriously, counting cards at 18 and winning 85k on holy/tyson at 20? paying off your friends double mortgage?", does that seem even that odd? Counting cards is tedious and without a team nearly not worth it, but that and NCAAFB before internet offshore sportsbooks was how I made income. Yes, at Casino's I blew most back at craps, etc...Most the NCAAFB money I made I blew NFL.  I've bet boxing since I was a kid but like SawLo stated, previous to online sportsbooks, you had to have connections to make a wager that size, and bookies rarely took boxing, only to appease bettors that brought customers to them, and even if a fighter was 8-1 vegas, bookies local only took maybe 3-1 at most.
   Now to JMM vs Pacman... you actually think the odds will go that low? What are they now Caliente.com, cause at -350 I would make a monster wager on Pacman as JMM can't carry the weight and power. It will be nothing like the initial two fights. A simple matter of strength and speed will favor Pacman in an easy KO! JMM will keep coming like a bull, but unfortunately being tough can also be dangerous. Margarito (even though he cheated) took a beating and kept coming, which I'm not surprised but impressed. I'm still looking at odds on certain rounds for Manny. For the 2nd time, I agreed with your 8-12 Floyd, I would have also added 6th & 7th.
    Instant Replay is in effect so the controversy of a ref making a bad call will hopefully be avoided. Also, with no standing eight count and no three knockdown rule in effect I feel if Manny knocks JMM down several times in a row, the referee will be in a tough spot to stop it early. Never-the-less, JMM can absorb a lot of pain and has a great chin, and the respect and likeness I have for him I would prefer to have the 3-Knock down rule in effect to save JMM from a bloodbath. Beristain knows Marquez and he will protect him at the right time. Nacho claimed annihilation against Manny, but I fail to see the probability!

   The catch-weight is too much for JMM to effect Manny. Like Roach said, Manny is totally different than previous two fights. This is true for strength, footwork and overall boxing ability. The bottom line is what does JMM bring to the table better than previously.. nothing, he loses speed and doesn't carry the strength. Also, Manny at 32 (even though he has been in wars, hasn't declined). JMM now is 38, and after his loss to Floyd, he re-matched Diaz and didn't KO him like previously. It took him 9 rounds to finish Katsidis (who is tough and has physical ability but is terrible as a technical boxer). His previous match at 138lbs against Ramos he won a first round TKO, a year prior Ramos was fighting super-featherweight and his 3 previous opponents had a combined record of 11-23-0... not very impressive.

Let's get back to posting picks guys!  I have an upcoming bet I really like.

DannoDanger: The beauty of boxing is that you can spot talent before media hype and get great odds. So many bad things can go wrong you have to make 7 even $ bets to get even. I use to bet these fights, but so many under -300 to +500 out there. I understand getting bets on varieties of fights is limited online these days. I think it was Herrera that won me big at +800, and hopkins +375 & hopkins by dec +600 over pavlik.
GL though& atleast you know Arreola won't quit... great determination in the ring.
