I feel people are afraid to back Campbell because nobody really knows how much he has left. He's looked like trash recently and doesn't have the look of a guy that should be fighting a young stud like Ortiz. If he has any chance he needs to come out fast and not look back. I feel he'll do this and we'll get a great fight.
Under 9.5, -115
I love Malignaggi. It's too bad he is going up against a fighter with legit pop and a trainer that will show him the Hatton tape and tell him to keep chopping until Malignaggi goes down. The bullshit at the weigh in, the Twitter trash talking and general hate these two have for each other should make for an action packed fight. The only problem is that Paulie is bringing a knife to a gunfight tonight...

I think Campbell will too walk, I'm taking a small wager on the plus money
I also fear that Khan will just basically waltz through what Mags will bring. . . the whole world knows he hasnt been stopped, except for a fight he could have finished on his feet in that had the towel thrown in, and the over is only -112 now at matchbook. . . I was thinking I was going to see -180 or more on it.
I love Paulie, his heart and skills are world class. . . too bad his power is kindergarten

Good luck to you too. I couldn't believe that Khan was such a huge favorite against Paulie at first. The more I thought about it I just couldn't picture Roach let Khan get out boxed for the entire fight without demanding him to apply constant pressure. I just can't see how Paulie finds a way to dance through the raindrops all night without getting wet at some point. Then other thing I gave serious consideration is how much of an emotional fighter Paulie is. He doesn't have the ability to focus and stick to his game plan. His nuts are bigger than his brains and he'll pay for that tonight.

Agree, but Paulie fights pretty well sticking and moving and going backward. My hope is that Khan gets a little gassed early trying to walk through everything, then Paulie starts feather fisting his way to a really good showing.
Realistically I fear that this is one of those fights where Paulie might land twice as much as Khan, but physically look 10 times worse, all battered and bruised by the end though.

2. Victor Ortiz is very talented but not nearly as polished as he should be. He doesn't have that killer instinct that a puncher should have. He really doesn't like getting hit. Sounds stupid, because nobody likes to get hit. However, Ortiz will cost himself a fight because he refuses to exchange even though he'll win big exchanges.
3. Amir Khan is even better than I thought he was. Paulie didn't present much of a power threat, but Khan looked like he was on another planet talent wise. Bradley is too small and too slappy for Khan. Khan would knockout the slugger Maidana. A fight with Alexander is now on my Christmas wish list.
4. Malignaggi is still the coolest guy in boxing - win, lose or draw.

What I learned tonight:
1. Nate Cambell is s-h-o-t.

As for #2, Golden Boy needs to be very careful with how they match Ortiz at this point. I don't see many people in the top ten that I'd be confident in him beating. Even if it's someone like Urango, would you be confident betting Ortiz? I wouldn't. Maybe they can talk Malinaggi's people into one last payday for Paulie.

Don't get to carried away with Khan's easy win. Paulie's style was tailor made for him. That's why Roach chose him as an opponent. Against a big puncher.. He may have a much tougher time of it. I thought he got hit a little too much for a slick boxer. Considering his reach advantage that surprised me. the jury is still out for me.

A win over Paulie tonight meant nothing, really. He still can't take a legit pop. But this was an AMAZING win for bettors. Kahn will now be favored going into almost ANY fight.
He has more flaws than a lot of boxers, and will NOT make a flourished run through the division. I wish Kahn-JMM would of happened... would of been my Play of the Decade.

He would be so much bigger than JMM. Marquez didn't carry enough power up to 140 to bring the power needed to hurt Kahn. JMM wouldn't have much of a chance.

Khan MASSACRES JMM at 140. Too big and too fast. Khan v Maidana is a fascinating fight. I can't see Khan KOing Maidana. To that he would need to engage and he would be MAD to do that. Its either Amir Khan winning all 12 rounds or a vicious KO for Maidana. I have been back on forth, but I will give Roach credit to in coming up with a gameplan to neutralise Maidana's power.
This fight is very like Mitchell v Katsidis. Mitchell is a far better boxer then Katsidis, but he couldn't keep him off. The big question I have is can keep Khan keep Maidana off him. If Khan could completely outbox for Maidana for 6 rounds he could easily demoralise Maidana and cruise to victory. That could easily happen but can anyone confidently bet Khan with that chin against a monster puncher. Sure would be an interesting spectacle.
