The safest bet in the world is this fight not going the distance, simply lay the extra chalk as a stoppage after the 8.5 total is entirely possible as both fighters slow and Angulo bleeds and swells consistently.
However, Canelo has always displayed a tendency to back up towards the ropes in the second half of rounds and noticeably slows in the mid rounds. Also, he has shown mental frustration in several fights. I'm not saying he is Victor Ortiz esque - but he is still very young and it is still a question mark as to whether or not he'll bend or break in a brutal war.
It's target practice for Canelo if he can land some big shots off of his jab in the center of the ring to deter Pero from coming forward. If not, Pero is going to capitalize when Canelo starts fighting backwards or against the ropes. Personally, I feel Pero's "one punch" power is very over-rated. He does, however, throw every shot with intention for damage.
Can you name a man that has had the tools to both hurt Canelo and question his physical toughness? I can't. Pero is the first man that has the ability to do so and I expect he'll get some opportunities to get some work done. Will it be enough? I don't know. Very interesting fight.
Anyone expecting an easy fight for Alvarez is probably mistaken, as I don't see any past indication that he would steamroll this type of large pressure fighter with balls of steel.
Enjoy the fight, bet the "won't go." Go for the homerun and bet Angulo ITD.
Good luck everyone.

Maybe the "Not the distance" backers can get lucky off a cut, DQ, or towel being thrown in.
I respectfully disagree. Alvarez has great hand speed for how big he is, but his movement is hardly swift. If anyone could just "cruise" to an easy decision against Angulo, it would have been a fighter with the movement and skills of Lara. Canelo doesn't have great lateral movement or ring generalship at this point. He's often forced to fight other fighter's fights regardless of the caliber and/or style of the opponent.
If you think he's just going to give him a pure boxing lesson without any hairy moments, you're absolutely insane.

Pure boxing lesson isn't exactly what I'm thinking. More along the lines of pocketing the early rounds, and inevitably gassing later.
Best of luck on your wagers.
