Either that or they just buy Rubio out. Another Arum fighter that simply they cannot afford for him to lose. They are already talking about a Cotto fight...... So no way Chavez losses here....

Chavez wins easily, Rubio was badly outclassed by Pavlik a couple of years ago, Chavez fights very similiar to Pavlik, plus Bob Arum is not stupid enough to fight a guy who actually has a chance. They will avoid Martinez and just keep fight stiffs.

Unfortunately, Rubio is a small middleweight and Chavez, by comparison, is huge at 160. Even though his KO percentage is an outstanding one at 86.7% one has to question his ability to land meaningful shots against Chavez.With that being said, Chavez Jr will be hit in this fight and he&#x27;ll get a very game effort out of Rubio. Is it enough to upset the apple cart and spoil a potential "mega-fight" for Chavez Jr? Probably not. However, both men will be hit and there could be a very short leash on Rubio or his will to continue in a spirited contest.I&#x27;ll be making a moderate play on the "fight won&#x27;t go the distance" prop, as I&#x27;m expecting both men to land often during this fight.

there are actually some that pick Rubio to win but I just can&#x27;t see it. I think Chavez works the body and probably stops Rubio late.

losing to a prime kp is no shame. after all he stopped a prime miranda and taylor; both fighters whom i believe would soundly beat chavez at their respective points in their careers.

rubio is a solid mw who can crack and chavez did not look good against light-hitting zbik, whom he could attack with impunity without fear of retribution. i laid -350 on jr in that fight and you can make a strong case that he lost.the body shots are what saved chavez in that fight and rubio knows this and will plan accordingly.

rubio will probably be +400 here in mexico and is a live dog.

damn qnctk1. i&#x27;m already on chavez for 2.5 units and i would lay another 2.5 if i could get that -220. i am avg. in at about -390. just checked my 2 books and they are at -390 and -395. is that line available on line or local? might try to fund something up if i can. thanx and good luck to you sir.

Chavez Jr. to Win = the play.&#xD;&#xA; Rubio, come on ??? At 45-1 or close to, are we in agreement that this kid needs to be turned loose and actually fight TIER-1 fighters.  This is almost ridiculous !  Chavez Jr. is a damn good fighter, only a fool would doubt that, but he is way too good to be "marqueeing" any cards against older and slower fighters.  To even dispute this fight is a waste of keyboard strokes.  Hey Bob, stop protecting this kid and give the fans what they deserve, to see him actually fight some tough fights.  His father entertained crowds to the tune of "fight of the decade"......in two different decades.  I loved watching that guy fight........its just so SORRY for us fans to not get some of that out of this kid...(46 fights in)&#xD;&#xA;AS I SPEAK, Arum is standing right in front of a mirror.  He already knows whos going to win this fight, he&#x27;s just practicing his smile for the postfight.  Just sayin !!!

chavez got ARRESTED 2 weeks ago in cali, for drunk driving and reports say he weight 175 at the time,  losing 20lbs in 2 weeks, that is a serious problem (although I do also have a problem with any report that the police release, as most of it is falsified,  he also most likely had all of his clothes on and shoes too. so not so sure about the weight)  the drinking does  concern me though as it does not seem like he is taking this fight too serious,  but in reality I also believe that this is how he lives, drinking partying, doing as he pleases, it will most likely not make a difference in this fight, but he will have to change his life around if he wants to win at the next level, no doubt about it
