Urbano Antillon vs. Adrian Valdez
Under 9.5 (-110)

25-year-old Urbana Antillon has developed into a bit of a puncher lately, as he's ended each of his last three fights inside of three rounds. That includes an impressive October dismantling of Wilson Alcorro in under two rounds. Alcorro had taken the powerful and well-regarded Nate Campbell into the sixth round in his previous contest, so not many had expected the relatively unheralded Antillon to dominate Alcorro so quickly. On Friday's Telefutura main event, Antillon will be facing southpaw Adrian Valdez, who has been knocked out twice in his five career losses. That includes a 12th round TKO loss to Robert Guerrero; although that seems respectable considering Guerrero's success, you have to remember that Valdez fought Guerrero at 126, and Antillon's been knocking out 135-pounders. This fight's taking place at 130, but that will only benefit Antillon, as he's likely the strongest opponent who Valdez has ever faced. Also, Valdez has the unenviable distinction of being Cesar Soto's first victory in 10 fights (Soto was 0-9-1 in the previous stretch), and Valdez has only fought once since that 2005 majority-decision loss. Considering all of these factors, I'm a bit surprised that the total was set at 9.5 for the ten-round main event, as I expect Valdez to be finished before the 7th round begins.
