I have followed covers for awhile now and have to post on this fight. I agree with some of the guys like walktheline who are on this site posting for a long time. I have a very strong feeling Manny bit off way too much here. The guy has fought nobody above 130 and those wars with Marquez, Morales, etc...are a bunch of guys that would get crushed by the likes of Mosley, Cotto, Mayweather. Mayweather proved these little warriors like Marquez are in for a long night against real welterweights. The stength and natural size of Cotto, who is still in his prime at 29 years old, should be too much for Pac. Im expecting a late KO by Cotto in rounds 9 or 10. I just cannot pass up +230.  We will see good luck to all.

Areed Danno. LuckyLouie you clearly show a lack of boxing knowledge if you think Pacman hasn't beat anyone over 130. David Diaz is a world class boxer, so is Ricky Hatton. Oscar was too weight drained and past it so I will leave him out of this debate. Now they are world class boxers but not pound for pound quality like Marquez/Barrera/Morales. There is a HUGE different between world class and pound for pound. People like Diaz, Malinaggi, Urango, etc etc I could go on are world class fighters NOT NOBODYS..

Cotto is world class and pound for pound fighter as well, The biggest live opponent Manny has faced. But remember Manny has made Hatton and Diaz look very average. They are better then average. Cotto has a live chance,I have stressed this but he will need to fight the fight of his life to beat Paquaio. Be under no illiusions about that.

I see why people are playing Cotto but there is a reason why Manny is the favourite. He is the better boxer and if he fights at his best HE WILL WIN this fight. No matter what Cotto does. Will he be at his best. There lies the big question.

Cotto is better then what Pacman has faced but is he good enough to actually pull of the upset. I think the Over is the safest play and best way to make money on the fight. Layig huge chalk on pacman is not really appealling and betting Cotto while their is value in all likelihood he will probably lose.

I just can't see Pacman knowing Cotto out and if it happens it will happen late. Can people also really see Cotto blasting Pacman out in 5 or 6 rounds!? I sure don't. If there is a Cotto KO it too will be late.

Play the over 9.5. Its the safest play and best way to make money on the fight..

Also Marquez was a great fighter. I think he would have battled those welterweights you mentioned very well 6 years ago asssuming he moved up gradually. Any boxing analyst will tell you Marquez has been going downhill for the past 2 years. His fight against Juan Diaz (very over rated fighter) showed just how badly he was slipping and Mayweather was just an awful matchup style wise against him. If you basing that on your argument then its not very convincing.

It's because he is now a crossover star, ala a young DLH. That's reason number one. Number two is that people feel Cotto won't recover from the Cheato fiasco.

Number two... straight from the man that sets the line...

“A motivated and healthy Miguel Cotto presents problems to any fighter and has all the skills needed to upset Manny Pacquiao but it's impossible to tell which Cotto we will see Saturday night,” says Oddessa.

Let's break that down. Motivated? Check. Cotto has said little and probably had his best camp in years, even coming in a month early. Healthy? Check. No reports saying he isn't.

Can we say the same about Manny? Motivated? Umm... maybe? We can say he had his trainer leave camp because he wouldn't listen and move to the Wild Card when requested. He's shot a movie and been doing every promo on every media medium to promote it. Very un-Manny like.

His fight against Juan Diaz (very over rated fighter) showed just how badly he was slipping and Mayweather was just an awful matchup style wise against him. If you basing that on your argument then its not very convincing.

Agree with 100% of this post. Well put.
