This tournament had such potential, all gone to crap hopefully they can bring in a banger who can maybe shake things up.. personally wasn't looking forward to seeing Dirrell and Ward spar for 12 rounds so Ward wins an easy decision and not hurt his "friend".

I've read a few conflicting reports today about the authenticity of Dirrell's injury.  Some said it's absolutely serious and career threatening.  Others said it's an excuse.  I guess we'll see, if he fights again anytime soon.

This is very sad..The concept was an amazing idea but sadly in truth it didn't work. I think the way to go is how there are doing things at junior Welter. Khan v Maidana, Bradley v Alexander (I have my doubts) and the winners square off against each other.

We love boxing on this forum but it always makes me sad that there is so much politics in the sport. At least Froch v AA should be something special.

I am a huge Dirrell supporter and I'm calling bullshit. If he was having these sort of problems this long after his last fight, its a wrap. Career over, no brainer. I highly doubt this is the case.

I 100% agree McNulty. Dirrell simply knew he couldn't beat Ward and a loss is a HUGE blow to his career. He will take a fight against one or two bums and then look to fight Bute or the other chump in the division..Or more probably he will move up to light heavy.
