Floyd vs Cotto ODDS??

I honestly think Cotto can give Floyd alot of trouble. I don't think Floyd will overpower him by any means and Cotto can flat out box.

If Miguel has a great training camp, this fight will be very interesting. For those of you who remember, Floyd wanted no part of this matchup about 4 years ago.

I'm most interested to see the exact weight at which this fight will be contested.

Interesting side note about this fight though.. Mayweather has no hesitation clamoring about Manny fighting his "leftovers", which for all intents and purposes is true.  Let his fight with Cotto mark the first time he is fighting Manny's.  Mayweather will try to dupe you by saying he beat a Cotto at a comfortable weight, coming off one of the "biggest wins" of his career against Antonio Margarito in a rematch.  This the PR bullsh*t you're going to have to endure people, so be ready. 

Ok, by now its so easy to make an argument for a Floyd walkover cuz "42 have tried and 42 have failed" right?.....blah fuckn blah.

And it's also so easy to say Floyd will only take a fight that he knows he's gonna win. He can't tarnish that perfect record right ? God forbid his legacy be destroyed.  Not to mention, there is no way at this point he would possibly jeopordize a $ 60 or $ 70 million dollar payday when / if he fights Pacquiao, right?.

And now he's hand picked Cotto, so it's gotta be easy money, right?

Well, for arguments sake I'm gonna throw all the conspiracy and boxing "business" bullshit aside for the moment.

Cotto has 2 L's in his career.......Margarito and Manny.

Margarito walked him down......case closed (notice i didn't even mention anything about him cheating in doing so). No one would ever question Tony's chin, heart or toughness. He won that fight with relentless pressure, despite being completely outboxed and outclassed for the first 7 rounds. Point being:  A fight with Floyd will look nothing like that.

Cotto held his own with Manny until he got caught. Manny's aggressiveness and volume punching eventually opened Cotto up and Miguel was forced into a fire-fight with a fire fighter....Big mistake. Point being: A fight with Floyd will look nothing like that.

Cotto will "Box" Floyd. He won't be pressured and there will be no firefighting. Cotto won't be moving backwards due to high volume punching. The fight will take place in the middle of the ring. And I promise you Floyd will get hit in this fight. Cotto will be countered as well, but don't tell me that he well sucumb to an overwhelming number of counter pot shots. Just because Floyd knocked out Victor Ortiz with a "legal" sucker punch doesn't mean he has this new found power. Floyd lives off the agression of his opponents, but Miguel's style is not agressive at all. He is very calculated with is jab and combinations....the guy can flat out box and when's the last time Floyd's been in the ring with a great boxer and looked spectacular (And don't you dare say JMM....that fight at 147lbs was not fair and everyone in boxing knows it) ?

I remember guys like De La Hoya, Judah, and Castillo (all guys that could box) give Money May fits during the course of the fight.

I'm simply saying this fight will not be easy for him. I also love the fact that Arum doesn't call Cotto's shots anymore. There should be absolutely no reason we won't see the best Cotto on May 5th.

this is a bad line.

pbf does not have ko power at 147 let alone 154 with 10 oz. gloves. which means that this fight goes the distance and anything can happen when it goes to the cards. cotto still showed good movement against margo.

i think that this will eventually settle come fighttime at pbf-300 and cotto +250. in fact, it wouldnt surprise me to see manny back in cottos corner just for this fight.

FLOYD TO WIN======

Thats the only way to go here.  Floyd vs. big punchers in recent history is 2-0.  Gatti by decision and Hatton got KO'd.  I would stay away from Floyd by decision.  I know you have to lay far less juice on this bet, but Cotto has shown some warning signs when faced with "extreme duress" during a bout, and that would scare the shit out of me.

If you make the Floyd by Decision bet, just remember to pucker your ass cheeks from rounds 8-12.  Those rounds Floyd is dominating EVERYONE anyhow, I just think Cotto will look like Gatti the last 4 rounds, and I'm sorry but Cotto's heart is probably 1/5 that of the late Arturro Gatti, and it took ALL THAT HEART for Gatti to go the distance.  Problem with a pure puncher is they usually dont do very well when their rhythm is disrupted, and by round 8 (if that long), Cotto will be disrupted, probably tired and lost the sting of his powerful punches, and then whats left.........4 more rounds with a guy who probably hasn't been touched all fight, well conditioned, and don't look now, but the smaller gloves could be Cotto's worst enemy in the long run (if they wear smaller gloves).  Not saying Floyd by Decision is a bad bet, I just think the safer play (although more juice) is Floyd to Win. IMO

Floyd has power in both hands. Maybe not 1 punch KO power, but enough to stun to lead to KO. Mayweather uses his ring awareness and only will capitalize on a hurt fighter if he knows he can finish him. Knowing Cotto's tenacity, he will just batter and bruise Cotto and maybe win a TKO by cuts or swelling.

Cotto stands little chance and in my old post I stated Manny wouldn't get the fight even with a contract and Cotto would be the next opponent before and after the Margarito fight.

The odds going from -600 to -300 won't happen with US bettors (using offshore or anywhere else). That just won't happen.
