Good point, but I do think there's a decent chance (maybe 25%) Miranda catches Ward with something big. Plus, I'm confident Ward takes him out before the 10th. So I feel the under is the safer bet since -130 isn't much worse than +100.

Doesn't anyone feel like Ward might be overly cautious with Miranda and box his way through? I just get the feeling that this might be a boring fight with Ward easily outpointing Miranda.

If Ward does a Boxing clinic, the result is the same Miranda on his back, Miranda's ONLY chance is catching Ward before the 4th, after that it's just a total blowout and Miranda out of shape and not the same boxer as he used to be will be on the Canvas.
I truly believe Miranda is ONLY prepared for a 4 round fight, which makes sense because after the 4th Ward gets better and Miranda doesn't have a prayer even if Ward boxes Miranda ONLY walks forward so he will be WALKING into punches.
Best play is "Fight will NOT go the distance" -220 but Better than laying -350 with WARD who will either KO Miranda or Miranda will catch him early.. but this fight I truly believe cannot go the distance.
Ward has a semi suspect chin and his opposition doesn't warrant a -350 price tag! Miranda seems like a shot fighter with ONLY a punchers chance.. hence -220 " Fight won't go the distance".. best play I can see almost all bases covered.
UNLESS someone believes this is going the distance.. but at least with this if Miranda gets lucky.. you still win, if everything goes according to planned and Ward Ko's him say in the 7th or so .. or even the 9th .. you win also... only a matter of time for each fighter!
Good luck to everyone!

This is the first time Ward's fought in Oakland, and he's been dying to fight there, as evident by previous interviews. I don't think he stinks it out.

Excellent prognostication. You couldn't have been more right. Miranda can't take much more here, I'd imagine.

Will Ward close the show? Does he have that killer instinct?
Everything went as planned didn't know Ward has the Jermaine Taylor syndrome, he made Miranda look horrific could of had him out any time! I knew the fight was going the distance when his corner said stay away and dance they said this in the 10th and 11th, then in the 12th they said go get him.. some ironic instructions.
The sucky line made it a prop bet, Ward looked very good but question is does he have exactly what you said that FINISHER mentality?
Remember he had a washed up Miranda in front of him, he should of had Miranda out by 9. He reminds me of Jermaine, the nice flashy combos but doesn't add that extra crunching punch to finish off a guy.
I liked wards Defense, then again it was Edison Miranda a one dimensional fighter.
I wish Ward had a few more "real fights" because we were left with so many questions before this fight. I think many were answered but he MUST have that killer and finishing instinct unless he was protecting.. himself from the right hand.. but Miranda had NOTHING on his punches after round 5 or so.
Congrats again to all you took Ward by decision, and put down the -350 on the fight.. :)
Anyone have a take on Ward after this fight? We know Miranda is done.

Ward has dodgy heart and Miranda talks a big talk before the bout which makes me nervous.
Perhaps the Ward team had a man planted to place a live bet on Ward ending it in the 12th? Perhaps they felt they could control the outcome and market research indicated KO's in the 12th have the best effect on reputation?
Anyways, goes to prove if I articulate a bet, it jinxes the result.

Why take the under 9.5?
To cover the chance of a Miranda KO of course.

The Jermain Taylor comparison is a good one. Miranda was stumbling around the ring like a drunk at the end of round 4, because he was so tired. I can't believe that this fight went the distance. Most of the top super middles would've KO'd Miranda tonight. Shows that Ward has a way to go before he fights any of those guys. If I were his people, I wouldn't stick him in with Green yet.

Eric good call. I thought about this ALOT! and while I loved Nutty's writeup, but I felt in the end Ward wins, so I went pretty big on Ward to win. Glad i did, nice call

Congrats on going large, the line being so big going large was the only way, going small made it a prop bet! I still need to reply to your Froch post against bute/green.
Congrats on a great win!
