I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. This is going to be an interesting weekend. I'm sure we'll see more than a few surprises, along with several questions being answered.
Froch, +145, 3.5 units.
The problem with making a large wager on Abraham is that his style gives away rounds. Unless he lands a big shots in the round, he doesn't do enough to score points. I don't like his level of activity, plain and simple.
Dirrell damn near shut him out. Abraham got frustrated to the point he took the coward way out. While not as fast or as long, Froch shouldn't have a problem winning rounds if he avoids the big shots.
This isn't a large wager as I can understand the case being made for Abraham. Bulletproof with power isn't a bad combination to back at a short price. I just feel it isn't the best side in this particular fight.
Katsidis/Marquez under 9.5, -120, 12 units
Katsidis comes straight in and lets his hands go. Marquez likes to counter. Remember the first 6 rounds of Diaz/Marquez I? Me too. Same thing here except Katsidis has more pop.
Either Katsidis makes Marquez look old or he gets hit with dozens of power shots each round. I can't picture this fight sucking - or lasting until the final bell. A "fight won't go the distance" would be the best play. However, I don't see that being available anywhere at this time.
Litzau, +925, 3.3 units.
The more I see of Litzau, the more he looks like the type of fighter that will have a great fight nobody expected him to. He is in his prime, he can punch a bit, seems motivated, etc.
Caballero is 34 years old, moving up in weight, then comes in heavy and has to lose another 1.5 pounds. Does that sound like a fighter that is in peak condition? Didn't think so. Also, I think Litzau punches harder.
