Froch/Dirrell Fight Discussion

Initially I liked Dirrell b/c of his hand-footspeed but am now thinking this may be too tall an order this early in his career, mainly b/c he will have to outpoint Froch to beat him, and to beat him on the road is asking alot.  He'll have to beat him clearly to get the decision.  I see Dirrell looking good and flashy in the first 8 rounds then will start to fade late.  He's never been 12 rds and Froch is a bull who keeps coming at you.  Can Dirrell stay on his bike all nite?  Possibly but he's fighting against alot of variables here:

-Never been 12 rounds
-On the road
-Fighting a more experienced guy

I will not be wagering on this fight, though.  I am dumping large coin on Dawson -180 DEC over Johnson, and Bute -115 DEC over Andrade, as well as the over rds prop on Kessler-Ward when that hits the board.

Kessler is really, really good, and very experienced.  Ward is a better athlete, and is fighting at home, but I'm not sure he's quite ready to climb this mountain yet.  Kessler is just so fundamentally sound.  I like Kessler by close decision here, but Ward is big things in his future.  Unlike that stiff Allan Green, Ward isnt just all hype. Ward and Dirrell will both have fruitful careers, just not sure they're ready to win these fights - yet.

Danno I am a huge Kessler fan. Kessler is a worthy favourite and Kessler of 4 years ago wins this EASILY but he has been very inactive since the Calzaghe fight and the fights he has had have been against very sub standard opponents. Now he has to step up in class.

Not only that but he has to travel to the States, even worse Calfornia against a slick undefeated fighter in his back yard. I smell upset.

If its the same Kesseler he should win but I have a feeling the inactivity/lack of competition and Wards slickness and speed will catch him out. Fascinating fight.

At these odds the value is with the Dog. Ruff Ruff

 

Good find Mack, actually I don't see him inside Froch's head at all.

I've been studying FACS (Facial action coding system) the past few weeks, you can get a feeling of what it is by watching a show called LIE to ME. The face never lies!

Everything Carl Froch said, he believed and seemed very Calm. If anything Froch's low-key attitude is getting  INSIDE Dirrell's head.

Froch was NOT this low-key before fighting Jermaine Taylor, he was amped up and trash talking.

Dirrell believes what he is saying too.. hid body and facial expression believes he can Knock out Froch.

Based on this video, Froch seems like he believes he can break down Dirrell little by little, and Dirrell SEEMS to believe he cannot lose, and this won't even be a fight.

Both fighters don't know how to lose. I would lean towards the Relaxed Froch, than the hyped up animated Dirrell.  (based on this video)!

I will be watching a few Dirrell fights .. to see if there is a reason he believes he has an easy victory.

We know Stamina won't be a problem for these two fighters. Froch gained a ton of experience from fighting Jermaine, even got off the canvas, not sure if Jermaine exposed Froch, or it's just what Froch needed.

I still check the boxing schedule to make sure this is going to happen.. seems too good to be true... all these fights free on showtime.

Now you want to see someone get inside someones head, Valuev  gets inside Haye's head and Haye Contradicts himself so many times while he's talking.

Valuev stole Haye's best asset (trashing talking) by coming in with a Mask... :)

Look at the disgust on Haye's face, but Haye did worse stuff against the Klitcho brother's and Klitcho family taunting them.
