Just a note for those not aware of what was offered before Ortiz vs Mayweather: Floyd offered Victor $2.5 Million wager on the outcome, and naturally
Ortiz declined. Actually a brilliant move by Floyd because Ortiz was
receiving a giant sum of money in relativity to what he is use to
getting. Risking your entire purse puts immense pressure because after
losing he would have no consolation. Myself, coming from a boxing and
poker background, it is no different than a player (who doesn't borrow,
get stakes, partners, etc...) have all his net worth on the table in a
NL game. Very rarely (even though it would work effectively) a player
will be involved with big pots without a big hand, and rarely make
All-In bluffs with his Net Worth!!! Only a handful of players (among top
pros do that) sit down with everything, yet alone risk it in a chance
hand.

Floyd was super confident in this fight and i won tons of moeny betting on him by KO. I have neevr seen Floyd this confident and FLoyd has never trained harder for a fight than vs Ortiz. Floyd was an animal frmo the opneing bell and he was going for the KO. That fight dissapointed me not because of the quick ending, but I feel Floyd was on his way of putting a classic beatdown...a pure clinic.

agreed. the only question was what effect the layoff and age had on pbf. after the first round and pbf showing no decline, everyone knew that ortiz was going to get beatdown. i had pbf to win plus 8-12 pbf ko and that fuck cortez screwed me out of a win.
some of the absolute worst work from a ref that i have ever seen.
no pbf nuetral corner, no official point deduction, no touch gloves to resume the fight, no nothing.

Floyd was gonna KO him ez... so even if it went longer, Floyd would be just as fresh because he exerted barely any unnecessary energy. That's the beauty of experience... Hopkins has been doing it for years!
