Gamboa  has a super glass chin and will be exposed once he fights a real fighter, never seen a guy who is given tomato cans dropped so much on weak punches!
He's fighting  at a record pace because they're 1 round ko's but he's NOT gaining experience, he's fighting bums and he will be 30-0 by the time he even fights a journeyman!

Gamboa does have some defensive flaws, not so sure I would say 'super' glass about the chin though...lol. When he gets knocked down its flash knockdowns...there is a difference. I believe he has been exposed for a while now, just nobody has been able to capitalize on it yet.

I'm optimistic with Yuriorkis as he does possess major talent. A loss may be what the kid needs. Looking forward to his next fight.

this is one of your poorer posts nutty.  gamboa has nothing close to a glass chin.  anyone who gets caught right is going to get dropped. it has notta to do with chin.  he goes in without regard for lesser opposition and yea, occasionally gets caught.  he gets right back up...unshaken, unhurt and even more aggressive than before.

gotta agree with the capmaster here.  Gamboa, from what I have seen, has bounced up everytime and unleashed a beatdown.

I diagree lol,  he is fighting guys who POSE NO threat, I understand that he runs in like a maniac and that's why he goes down. Doesn;t logic say if you have such power and talent, that you LEARN how to get in by say maybe a JAB, not by running into a guys fist first..

Yes he's gotten back up and knocked out Tomato cans, I'm talking dented tomato cans!. The boxers he faces you need to look a bit deeper, boxrec.com will show what I'm talking about tonight's fight okay looks Jose Rojas South paw 25-6 seems okay now see his resume of HIS inferior opponets.

Let's see

Go to www.boxrec.com  look at the fighter's Gamboa has fought, the details the FIGHTERS they fought, and you will one fighter had a fight against someone who was like 21-64.

Boxing loves POWER he does have that, but being down so many times from fighters with NO punching power or boxing skills, he will be exposed, not now he has another 5-7 fights before he sees even a decent journeyman who they take out of retirement to fight him.

I have nothing against HIM he is being touted for something he isn't!  He has RAW power NOT raw talent.

See flash knock downs are okay say got boxers like Marquez against pacman, because Marquez can be hurt or stunned by pacmans power BUT as in the first fight Marquez won every round because he's a technican and adjusted on the fly to Pacman's quick left which in the first round he under estimated the speed and power, but he adjusts just like in the Juan Diaz fight.

Gamboa is not a Marquez and he will NOT adjust in fights, if he had any talent he would fight boxers who will test him and make him better, he's in for the quick payday but I have a feeling he won't make it to the next level the chin and defense are too weak.

You cann bum rush your opponets yes when your opponets fight guys with 0-10 records and 1-15 records you CAN do that.

The mere fact is he is getting dropped by dented rusted tomato cans who are only there to be beat, imagine a fighter who is there to WIN?

I love power too, I've see all of his fights and he has done NOTHING to improve himself except knock people out after getting dropped, looks great when he gets up like a mad man and then decks the other guy, but who is he decking Joe the plumber from Idaho? Bob in accounting? :)

His management is doing a good job of making him marketable for QUICK money ONLY.

Do you guys believe he actually has true talent, if so why are they making him worse by putting him in fights that are expected to last 1 round or so? You need ring experience to get better not first round ko's!

So what he's fighting bums...the kid turned pro in 07'...lol.

He does have big power, but he does possess big talent. Look @ his Am's career. You don't accomplish what he's done with a heavy hand alone.

JMM is a VETERAN thats fought p4 talent on the reg and Yuri is a inexperienced prospect...big difference. How do you know he can't adjust? He only turned pro less than 2 years ago. JMM has been a pro since Gamboa was like 12 or 13...lol. JMM also has one of the best trainers in the business.

I don't know how you can say he is devoid of talent. Also, I highly doubt he is rolling in big dough. They don't make as much as you think they do, unless you have info I don't, please link it. Give the kid a break...

I never said he is MAKING big dollars. I cleary said that's what they're aiming for to build up a 30-0 record and make money before he gets exposed. I never said he's making BIG MONEY now.

He's been on hbo espn and now showtime... that's a major feat! All I see is a guy who is reckless, in the ring, I'm telling you what I see, kind of odd this great amateur who is taught to BOX on points, comes in with reckless abandon where's the poise?

I never said he cannot adjust, I said how can he LEARN to adjust if he's fighting one round fights!

I've never seen any "great prospect" get dropped as much as he has on national television!

Everyone can turn a blind eye and make excuses why he gets tagged, but the mere fact you say he was a great amateur must leave the boxing world scratching their heads as why this guy is fighting so reckless if he has this amazing talent?

What do you call his chin? He's fighting guys who don't belong in the ring, this guy has been on the deck many times. yet still ranked up there pretty high.

Imagine if he got hit by a guy with a true punch, that "flash" knock down would be a KO.

We won't know until he fights a guy who has a living chance, that won't happen until he's at least 24-0

I said IF he had any talent. YOU seem to think he does and state he was an amazing amateur. He's been on the deck so many times by paper punchers, wait until he fights a puncher.

You say flash knock downs, I say glass jaw.

A great amateur doesn't FIGHT like that. He's NOT a mini Mike Tyson. Tyson beat the hell out of his tomato cans and never got decked.

Can you win a gold medal without talent?

He falls somewhere between Juan Manuel Marquez and talentless in my book.

Probably in 2 weeks the way he's been fighting tomato cans.

This is a laugher, the Rojas guy was rated #6 and #4 check out his latest resume, and tell me if ANY human being deserves to be in the top 1000 with this. The only other guy he fought was Chris JOHN- These were Rojas recent opponents besides Chris John, tell me how can someone who NOT in the beginning of their career fight these guys but RECENTLY leading UP to this fight, that's right he fought a guy 1-9-1 and got a "Title shot for some fake belt against Gamboa"- Gamboa took 10 rounds to get rid of a guy with this resume, this is a JOKE!

OK Rich....

What you rather Gamboa do...take the route Vargas did and be running shit by 14-0? That's what ruined Vargas.

There is a reason why fighters get brought up slow. You want someone to cry about, go cry about Chavez Jr. A guy that's almost 40-0 and fought nobody. Now you got a case to cry about. Not a kid thats 15-0 thats been pro barely two years. Give the kid some time to do what he do.

FYI, Rojas also fought for the WBA against Garcia, a vacant WBA against Ortega, and another shot @ the WBA against Cermeno. I don't recognize those names, but I don't recognize a ton of names in that division.

Deff top 1000 material. If your fighting for any belt your better than most. Its not like the featherweight division is teeming with super athletes.

I thought this was a site where people talk about trying to make money betting boxing. Seriously dude, not trying to make any personal attacks--but, why is this getting you so hot under then collar?
