I was supposed to get tickets for Pavlik-Taylor 1 at Boardwalk Hall didn't happen. I WILL get tickets for this event even if I have to get a new CC to finance it!

I was the biggest hopkins fan around for a long time. But after his last several fights i'm just real sour on him fighting past his prime, something he said he wouldn't do. His offensive skills have just diminished too much imo....

all that being said this is an interesting matchup.

B-Hop biggest win was against Tarver aka Mason Dixon other then that he has beat alota Midwest middle weights and blown up welters he is a phonyB-Hop.Pavs gonna crush him

What do you think that Pavlik is?  What is his weight class?  What region of the country is he from?  Doesn't he fall into the category you said?

Nah, in all seriousness I'm not really sure why this fight is being made, what does it do for Pavlik now that Nard has been unseated as the champ at 175?  Even with all the career steam that Pavlik has going I will still be surprised if this does many buys on PPV?  This makes no sense to me.  Hopefully we get Pavlik-Abraham sooner than later.

def agree, fight makes little sense other than a couple promoters thinking they'll get a few ppv buys and turn a small buck.

I totally agree FB but  hate B-Hop and wanna see him knocked the fuck out!  Pav Abrahams gonna be the shit!

Hop is great value here, I played him +325 already. Pavlik is predictable in both movement and punching patterns, he doesn't have the angles or volume or speed of Calzaghe, and is less experienced.

The line for this fight should be closer than vs Calzaghe. Pavlik is moving up to 170lbs and has never faced anyone like Hop. Hop landed the better punches vs Calzaghe but just couldn't keep up with Zag's output and lost as a result. Calzaghe did a good job of keeping a distance and avoiding the clinch, which emphasized his combinations to the judges, even though they had little effect. I don't think Pavlik is capable of doing the same, this should be an ugly fight with Hopkins landed the better punches at every corner of the ring.

That said, the logical outcome is Pavlik SD based on volume alone, and the fact that he's a young caucasian with crossover appeal, I doubt anyone wants him to lose to a 43-year-old racist convict. But +325 is a steal.

Clearly no value at all on Pavlik's ML.  Ludicrous.  Seems as if books just don't want you on the Ghost, but on the old racist "for value."

Pavlik can carry 170, he was 166 or so vs JT at their catch weight rematch. I think he wins big , probably late but by KO

I'll be content to just cheer my farking arse off for "The Ghost."
 
No way am I laying that type of chalk against "The Racist."  Like him or not, the man knows how to win boxing matches.  Seen it several times.  Gets ahead in early rounds, then holds the rest of the match, and wins on points.
 
I'd love to see Pavlik knock this mofo's arse out for good, though.

If anyone wants to read a good feature on Pavlik, check out the latest issue of Ring.  It's a lengthy interview with him and his dad.  Money and fame really haven't changed Kelly at all, he is still living in his 1100 square foot house.

Look for Pavlik to stay back and aim for Benard's arms and shoulders to try and wear Benard down.

Has Benard ever been knocked out?

Wouldn't want to see Kelly in a Hop vs Cal Rd. 1.

Pavs volume is different then Joe Cals every punch Pav throws is to hurt you and the guy dont stop.Pavs a training beast and is one of the most in shape fighter you will see let B Hop shut down like he did against Cal he will get knocked out. Im predicting a 7 rnd KO and a retirement of B-Hop.

 No one has ever landed enough flush shots to KO Hopkins and you think Pavlik will? Keep dreaming !!

Hopkins may not have as much punch output anymore but he still has the best defense in the game

Hopkins punch output thats the fucking only thing funny B-Hops not even in the same class as the Ghost and never was

this is getting more than a tad silly. pavlik has never been in the ring with anyone like hopkins, if this fight happened 7-8 years ago it would be a total schooling. now its pavlik's edge b/c of punch output.

i was wrong to take hop +325, hes up to +350 elsewhere, im surprised.

I re-watched Hop-Calzaghe and gave Hop more rounds that I did the 1st time, either a draw or a win for him by 1 point. The problem is he just couldnt match Calzaghe's output. So even thought he landed the better shots during the exchanges, the fact that Calzaghe threw 5 to his 2 gave the impression calzaghe was controlling the fight. Pavlik is easier to figure out, I expect Hop to expend less mental energy and feel more confident in his gameplan.

That said, Pav UD 115-113 ish, but +350 value on Hop is terrific.

Maybe you can find some value in the Cheifs this week against the Pats  have fun losing your money You may wanna take a look @ who B-Slops been beating  in his long storied legendary career.EVERY GOOD MIDDLE WEIGHT HE FOUGHT HAS BEAT HIM. Roy Jones JR clowned him Taylor beat him 2 times Joe Cal beat him .He did have some good wins againtst former light weight champs and a outa shape Tarver.B-Slops gonna go to fucking sleep this fight wont be close.
