Agreed completely on the over. I can see Floyd catching Marquez with a perfect counter and getting the stoppage, but the two problems there are that Floyd won't be as sharp as he was two years ago, and Marquez is a master at surviving through rough moments.
Outside of that possible clean counter though, this fight screams chess match.

I would love to see a good fight, but the only way I see that is if Mayweather is rusty or has lost a step. If he's his usual self, he cautiously outboxes Marques, I think.

I don't know man, I can't get JMM getting rocked by Diaz and almost being out early in that fight out of my head. Diaz was kicking his ass, and I BELIEVE he was ahead when he was stopped. Mayweather ain't Diaz, and I'm not sure he ever left anything. It's not like he was at the buffet line every day, he trained as usual from most reports. Mayweather still way too fast and too much sneaky power for such a small fighter moving up yet again.

I think 2 years ago this definitely goes over and i would be betting floyd by decision. I have a feeling though that Mayweather may be lookin for a knockout, my reasoning is that pacquiao has KOs in his last couple fights, mayweather seems to desperately want to be considered the best pound for pound. only 2 ways to do that 1) beat pacquiao or 2) look more impressive in victory than him.

I also though Diaz was seriously taking it to JMM, but at the end of the day JMM didn't go anywhere, and Diaz had to put wild pressure on him to land what he did. If Floyd came out of a two year hiatus throwing with that kind of volume, it would be shocking.
Floyd either lands right on the button at some point (which Pacquiao did four times in two fights but couldn't close the show), or he steps up his attack once or twice in the late rounds, which I don't think will scare Marquez, even if he's losing.

i should clarify though that even though I think Floyd wants a KO that doesn't mean he will get one I just wouldn't be surprised if he fought more like he did against hatton than he did against de la hoya, possibly even more aggressively than he fought hatton, for his rep he needs to win in impressive fashion

Floyd is easily the hardest, sharpest puncher Marquez will have ever faced. Marquez has been active, but he's getting old, and he doesn't move his feet the way he did 3 or 4 years ago. I just don't see a strategy for him to win this fight. I don't think he has the single shot power to hurt or even worry Floyd the way Oscar may have had 2 years ago. I don't see Marquez having the legs to try and circle and out box Floyd, and I couldn't see that working with the height and reach advantage he's giving up. My belief is that he will try to overwhelm Mayweather with a high work rate and combination punching, and no one in boxing is better at punishing you for over-aggression than Floyd. He's going to catch Marquez with something massive, and we all know that JMM can be caught and hurt. The only question in my mind is whether Floyd can step on the gas to put him away when the time comes. My guess right now would be, yes, but I'll be sure to back up my guess with a large play on the Mayweather chalk. You guys are welcome to fade me though, the books will need money to pay me with.

letmespin, just curious but how much is a "large" play ,,for sure in the world of anything can happen, which is boxing I would not feel comfortable either eating the chalk, or laying any kind of amount to win so much less- floyd may win , but my cash (small play) will be on JJM

I've liked Mayweather by decision since the fight was announced. Some pictures surfaced recently showing JMM looking ripped. I'm actually starting to think the fight could be close.
