I'm pretty sure he was -5000, unless it was an accident and a zero was added. Anyone know or bet the fight? If he was a 50-1 favorite, was his opponent allowed to punch?

Went almost as expected. Over/under was set at 5 1/2 rounds. With the under favored. The only real value was in the over. I didn't bet it, because I didn't know anything about the guy he was fighting, or how well Taylor would look coming back.
He stopped the guy in the 8th round, and landed something insane like 73% of his punches.

Those numbers were complete bullshit, much like JT's performance. The kid he was fighting was never hurt at any point and the stoppage was one of the worst I've ever seen. Taylor won every round but looked about as bad as possible if that makes any sense.

Yeah, I wasn't particularly impressed with JT. His opponent was just over matched. The stoppage really was strange. But it was pretty much the exact type of fight he needed as a comeback fight. I'm interested to see where he goes from here. I'm pulling for him. He's a gentleman, and conducts himself with class.

I'm not really a fan of Taylor because TBH I think he's not very good....but he seems like a geniuly good guy and class act. I wish him the best and hopefully he will leave the sport with his health intact. It's been painful to see him get KTFO these years he's still young. Please retire JT you ahve your whole life ahead of you.

It was a real shame he went downhill overnight. I don't know if his age caused his metabolism to slowdown, or a matter of attitude and training, combination...etc. It is rare for a boxer his age to just become totally worn so fast. Remember in Pavlik I, even though he was taking a beating after, he even stated he was over-exerted. So, apparently he has always had a stamina problem, and fighting Hopkins and Wright did not force him into exertion even though he was constant. The last fight I scene Taylor fight smart was against Lacy. He had Lacy hurt many times, and easily could have done much more damage but he reserved himself with caution. Every round he hit Lacy with a shot that normally most fighters try to end it, but he learned from experience if he didn't stop Lacy and tried, he would lose by exhaustion. I thought his fight with Winky was close and a terrible attitude by Winky after the fight. A fighter that knowledgeable and technical should have some idea how a fight is,... Winky only got the best when Taylor allowed him to corner him and get off shots. In the center ring Taylor was athletic enough to score and stay ahead. Taylor should retire. I think there is little debate regarding whether he should retire... it seems a consensus!
