Khan V Maidana Dec 11th

When this fight was first touted last year I was going to play on Big bad Marcos. I have since changed my opinions 180 degree's.

This fight will be as close to Calzaghe v Lacy as you will see.        I think Khan will truly announce himself to the world. The only chance Maidana has is to catch Khan cold and early. If this goes past 3 pounds Khan is going to systematically take this guy apart. Khan has opened -300 so the books are onto this too.

Going to look for something to parlay with and I will add it to this thread. Khan is rolling here..I know alot of you will worry about the chin issue and that is always going to be there. But when Khan when to Roach he was piece of coal. The guy was beyond slick as an amateur. Roach has done an outstanding job with this guy turning him into a diamond and his improvement overall, especially in his footwork is really noticable. He always had speed and its Marco's lack of speed means he won't get close to landing on Khan's chin. If this goes beyond 6, then Maidana will be taking such a beating the punch power equation will be taken out of it.

I will be playing strong on Khan when the time comes and will also be looking to parlay him with something else that will bring me close to evens.

I agree with both of you as far as loving Khan in the fight. In fact, would anyone be talking about Maidana if he didn't get up from the mat and sucker Ortiz into a slugfest?

My guess is no, simply because he isn't an elite fighter imo. His lack of movement and his face first defense will make him look very bad sooner than later. His power makes him live in any fight, but he can't box for beans.

As far as the actual outcome? Khan will probably stop him late in the fight if he chooses to go for it at some point. I question both Maidana's stamina and power after the midway point in fights. I can also see Khan landing his jab so often that he could cut or swell Maidana enough to get a TKO type of stoppage.

A simple straight play on Khan seems correct at only moderate chalk. If the KO prop is around +200, I would probably consider it an option.

I agree with you maidana has power and speed including experience to Knock out Khan.  Khan hasnt really fought any deadly fighters most of them have been duds!! 

Footwork + Speed? Yeah.. those are the two things he is lacking. What fighter are we talking about? The Rocky Balboa esque slugger that made Victor Ortiz consider a new profession? Ok, glad we are on the same page here..

Anyways, Maidana can't box. He can punch, but not box. Could Prescott Khan? Sure. Will he? Probably not.

He didn't catch Chop Chop, that's for sure. If you need confirmation that he is far less likely to catch Khan than not, there you go. He gassed and looked like dogshit. Unless he catches Khan in the first few rounds, he is going to get a beating and probably get stopped.

What is his KO percentage going to tell me?  That he KO'd 20 Argentinians who I've never heard of?  Big deal.  Look at some of their records.
