Props to Mayweather for at least starting the promotion early, and FREE via Twitter.. so easy even a caveman could do it.  Most can't realize how great a businessman Floyd is, only to be matched by his prowess in the ring.

Yes but he's an idiot as a person. I know personally. He also thinks that we all only think he puts in winning wagers? Posting $400,000 Alabama winning tickets?

As a boxer he's a genius IMO and greatest defensive fighter other than Willy Pep...

    He will murder Pacquiao IMO

Perhaps, I don't know him personally, and doesn't bother me that I don't either.  But I do admire him and Pac for that matter, as being great atheletes.  However, my main concearn is being able to see the showdown with Pacquiao, and soon.  And also, given that we won't know what goes on at the negotiating table, that Floyd doesn't price himself out of, or make absurd demands in order for the fight to occur.  He's entitleled to some concessions, sure, but in order to make the fight happen BOTH sides will have to be flexible, and that's were Floyd and Bob Arum come into play, and it could end up being a short meeting at the bargaining table considering the history between these two.  My fingers are crossed.

Wow! his calling out for Pacman, because his in jail. This chicken should have done that a long time ago. Now his talking. Some inmates would love to beat this woman beater for sure. Make sure he won't retaliate, or he would stay in jail longer.

I hate to beat a dead horse (I've said this in numerous other threads) but, this fight will not happen.  If you think Mayweather's 'tweet' yesterday meant anything, you're wrong.  It was for PR only.

And Arum's quote from Steve Kim's article today is the death blow, IMO:

This match-up has been discussed and bantered about for the better part of two years. You get the sense that the fans are suffering from fatigue in discussing and debating the particulars of why it hasn’t taken place. There is a distinct possibility that they might even be losing interest in this fight as the months and years go on. There is also this fact: both men are now well into their mid-30s. The sell-buy date on this fight, if it hasn’t already passed, is quickly approaching.

    Arum doesn’t disagree.

“I would say that it may turn into sour milk if it doesn’t happen this year, yeah.”

First of all, this is exactly correct.  I'm personally tired of it, hence no more money from my pocket, or time from my schedule to watch another Pac or May fight.  Period.  However, there will always be interest to see this fight, unless either side suffers a loss.  The interest is indeed dwindling, but not at an alarming rate.  Though the interest may take a big hit if the fight is not completed by May, and even more if not by year's end.  Next, I don't care for anything Bob says.  His job is to make the fight, while looking after the best interest of Pac.  Lastly, I know full well that this fight probably won't go off due to everthing and everyone involved.  But it's what I want, and it's probably what everyone else, including you Danno, wants.  The only way I, or anyone else can get what they want is to do it the old fashion way, AND PAY FOR. Or...NOT PAY.. and that is exactly what I will do, NOT PAY for another fight.  I can even take a stand against Arum or Golden Boy PPVs, and not pay for those, justifiily, but I'll keep it simple and focus on the Pac and May.  It's like extending my vote, I am only one person, but they say "your vote counts".  Well I've cast my vote.  And now I will sit back, fingers crossed, and pray for a miracle.  And watch other figthers perform.  Thank you and good luck.

I would like the fight to happen because of the financial implications for me personally.  But for entertainment value, I could care less at this point.

@Danno.. I think many share your same feelings.  Dollars can be hard to come by, and this fight has dollars written all over it.  Good luck to you with your business.

if they fight pacquiao kills mayweather. I don't mean that as a euphemism Pacquiao will kill mayweather. Mayweather in my opinion will leave the ring in a bodybag

and how did you come to this conclusion?

was it from pac's decisive win over jmm that leads you to believe this?

sorry about the sarcasm, p but jmm did not look particulary good against both katsidis and a 135 pound casamayor. in fact casa, who's power really only comes from a straight left, was arguably winning the fight until he got caught late.

and three years later a 38-year-old jmm gave paq all he could handle.

as for pfb bleeding, some fighters just dont bleed. ever. b-hop, mosely, toney, pbf, leonard, hearns. if you're counting on pbf losing from the effects of a cut then that is probably not a good bet.
