Vs. The Network has yet another decent looking card. (never great, never truly bad, always decent).
Tye Fields. The great White hype, or great White hope? Tye is several things, he's bigger than the biggest Klitschko, he's a likeable guy both pre & post fight in his message, he's big, did I mention the Size here yet? He's something of a Paul Williams at Heavyweight. Prolly just about the highest Punch-Volume of any1 in the H.weight Top-100 in fact. But he's hitable, as his next Sliped Punch might very well be his first, his Chin is at best unproven to me, and has looked dented at times, and his Voltage stands less Tall than his stature does.
SOooooooo, I was gonna go fish, and try to hook this u.dog (Koval; who does have some righty Power). Koval is at a Career high in Weight (only up 1 lb. from his last bout); but he's not looked good north of 255-260 (he's now 277). So I'll stick to Tye, who has added about 10 lbs. of good, ripped Weight (surprisingly, & I'm not sure how he did this, as he's been big for years, but never big & cut). & the UP.
The so-called "Fourm-Guide" shows me a nearly even fight in the Headliner. Clottey has the Experience edge, prolly a Power edge as well. But S.Al is a Lefty. I'm seeing a Distance fight, as Josh has had 5 of those in a row, and it may take some time to fig' out this Lefty, as getting this bout is a huge Career break for SAl. UP on tis one as well.
I like UA on Friday nite, & I'm taking the LOW on the Hide fight.

Pretty suprised your posting a -1100 pick on Fields
If you think the Clottey vs Alvarez is a "nearly even fight," you should probably jump on those nice +300 Alvarez ( I doubt anyone else thinks this is "nearly even," but you might know something we don't with your insider information and all...
Good Luck on the "up" in the headliner at -400

UP goes down, as does Koval after 1 sort really big shot. Nice showing for Tye, but I need to see more. Show me the $ vs. a bottom Top-15 guy & we'll talk. But Tye could not look any better either.

Nope. The applause Icon is actually for Tye looking not a whole lot like Tye typically does, i.e. looking a little better, stronger, and more aggressive. At least trying to hit like a giant. That's for him, not for moi. Bud at least Clottey went the Distance as expected.

All plays and units wagered posted 2006 Results (March-July): +19.2 units (+$1,920)
Last Week: +1.53 units (+$153)
2007 to date: +40.73 units (+$4,073)
You know it is the Christmas season with the lineup of fights we have this weekend. I didn't like anything last night, I liked Clottey to win, but didn't like the odds. I had family Christmas obligations and didn't get to tune in live; was Koval just there for a payday?
Two plays for me this weekend.......
.20 of a unit on Valdez (+600) vs Antillion Small value play here, these odds have sky rocketed since the line I saw yesterday. I know Antillion has built up quite a resume sparring against top opposition and been featured on Maxboxing a few times in sparring videos which I saw, but he has fought absolutely no one besides Trejo who he got a SD over. Valdez has been in with better opposition and even in losing was competitive, I am going to take a chance at the inflated odds. Maybe I'm just starving for some dog action.
.80 of a unit on Gulyakevich (+215) No shame in a loss to Arthur. Gulyakevich has a decent pedigree and Kirakosyan has appeared very beatable in the two fights that I have seen him in (one a loss to Gomez).
Merry Christmas to all on the boxing board.

Joval had a few decent to good early-middle Rounds Fullbrights. But Clottey was thumping away, and had Joval discouraged after say the 8th or 9th. I really though Clottey could have gotten a TKO Stoppage had he really pressed hard on the Offensive gas-pedal. But I'm glad he did not.
I'm already against yah on the Urbano play. But I was toying w/ this G'vich play. Interesting that he's listed as a Righty, but Mr. Houston says he's a Lefty. I'll try it. Count me in on this upset, & the LOW.

Hey Bigeiii, I think you confused Koval with Alvarez in your reply to
FB...Koval was definitely not in shape for this fight. He looked like
a smaller version of Butterbean.

Yes. Dang. Good reset A2C. Indeed, the guy Tye worked looked like a pillow case filled with very lump mashed potatoes that had eaten nothing but butter for months. I understand what Fullbrights is asking now. Yah; he may have been there for a little X-Mas stocking-stuffer greenback bling indeed. He sure did not try very much or very hard.
Thx A2C. bigeiii

LOL, I see that A2C already pointed it out, but I didn't know what in the world you were talking about. I thought that I was in an alternate universe or something. Had Raymond Joval dropped 2 weight classes and worn a Shamone Alvarez costume last night? Earth to Bigeiii.

Great call on Gulyakevich, FB! I just watched the fight, and he
completely controlled the match with his size and boxing skills.
Kirakosyan (who reminds me of a featherweight Vic Darchinyan) just
wanted to go straight ahead so that he could catch Gulyakevich on the
inside. But Gulyakevich just jabbed and moved. He was even connecting
with some nice uppercuts towards the end as Kirakosyan became tired and
frustrated. Not sure what the scores were, but it should've been a
wide UD, and I definitely saw Gulyakevich's hand raised as the winner.

Appreciate it. Yeah, I didn't get to tune in to streamtv to watch it today, but a buddy of mine said that he had it 10-2 for Gulyakevich. I'll take it.

G'vich did well for me. Covered the misses on a 200%+ ROI. I like that. Just need Hide to end his guy early on, as Hide has a 6.5 lb. edge here. That's not making me sad.
