De La Hoya is the naturally bigger fighter, even though they both started their careers at 130. De La Hoya is taller, a bigger puncher, and stronger. So the conventional theory will be he needs to fight on the inside and rough Floyd up. But I don’t agree with that assessment.
I believe Oscar needs to work off his jab all night. Set everything up off the jab. If we learned anything, jabs control speed. And Mayweather will be the faster fighter. If De La Hoya can use the jab and work the body off his jab, he will be halfway home.
Mayweather, on the contrary, needs to beat Oscar to the punch all night. He needs to use his boxing skills and shoulder rolls to deflect De La Hoya’s offense. Mayweather has to be in counter mode all night long.
In my humble opinion, I feel De La Hoya will control the action all night. He will use his size, skill and outbox Mayweather in a tactical fight was some moments of excitement. My scorecard will probably read 116-112 De La Hoya. People may not see this being possible, but remember when was the last time Mayweather saw a fighter like De La Hoya? He hasn’t ever. And remember this, every fighter loses eventually.

Been watching a bit of the training these two have been doing as well as coverage of their press conferences...Mayweather's been mouthing off as usual...I really hope Oscar shuts him up.

THIS IS GOING TO BE LIKE WHEN DELAHOYA FOUGHT HOPKINS. DELAHOYA IS GOING TO BE TO BIG FOR MAYWEATHER. FLOYD MAY DANCE AND GET SOME OF THE EARLY ROUNDS BUT HE IS GOING TO HAVE TO ESCHANGE WITH OSCAR AND THAT IS WHEN HE WILL FEEL THE POWER AND SUFFER THE POUNDING. FOR FLOYD TO WIN HE WILL HAVE TO WIN THE EARLY ROUNDS AND THEN RUN FROM THE 8th through the 12th like OSCAR did vs TRINIDAD. I predict OSCAR by KO in the 9th-10th. ONLY CAUSE OSCAR WILL HAVE THE ADVANTAGE IN POWER AND SKILL. SPEED WILL ONLY TAKE MAYWEATHER SO FAR. Ego will get the best of Mayweather and with that will come the defeat.
