Pacquiao says 'no fight yet' with Mosley

Shane Mosley has made no bones about his desire to fight Manny Pacquiao, appearing on ESPN's "SportsCenter" to call him out, then announcing in the last week that he's willing to fight at a catch weight against boxing's top pound-for-pound fighter and accept a 60-40 split of the purse for an Oct. 17 bout.

On Wednesday, Mosley's publicists released "news" implying Pacquiao wanted to fight Mosley next.

That isn't necessarily true, Pacquiao promoter Bob Arum told The Times later Wednesday. And now Pacquiao's saying it, too.

In his own press release, Pacquiao was said to be "surprised and flattered over the enterprising reports which came out in the media that a fight with Sugar Shane Mosley has been forged Wednesday."

"It's funny that I am the last man to know about this supposed fight. I know everyone wants to fight me and I have said I will fight anyone, including Mosley," Pacquiao said. "But I have not heard from my promoter or have seen any contract or fight detail. So, there is no fight yet."

"I am flattered that even the great Sugar Shane Mosley is now going after me by any means. I am not closing the door on any negotiations, though, and I trust my promotional and training team to make the best decision for me."

"I am not blaming people for coming up with ideas to lure me to fight them. I have said it before and I will say it again, I will not run away from a great fight. Floyd Mayweather is even using reverse psychology, saying he will not agree to fight me for a 50-50 purse. Of course everyone wants to fight me."

"We will make the announcement at a proper time and a proper place after all the fight details have been discussed."

Pacquiao, 30, has won world titles in six divisions, including his May 2 second-round knockout of England's Ricky Hatton in Las Vegas.

Pacquiao will watch Miguel Cotto fight in New York on June 13, then huddle with his team to discuss his next bout. He could decide to fight Cotto, Mosley, or wait to see the July 18 bout between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Juan Manuel Marquez, whom he has already fought twice.

In his Thursday news release, Pacquiao announced, "For sure, my next match will be on June 18 to 21 and it will be against some of the best darters in the world" -- the $100,000 Pacmania II Darts Tournament in Burbank.

He's ready to fight, they both had easy fights,  willing to drop down in weight, 60-40 purse...  what else could Mosley do?

Even if Cotto somehow did win a tough fight, he wouldn't be ready for Oct 17th.

I understand the psychology of it all make everyone want to fight you create more demand, but Pac-man doesn't need to do this he already has a massive fan base. In my eyes it's turning into a circus and by choosing Cotto appear at the Cotto fight and watch Cotto  is crazy.

Pac-man has to be realistic, even though he's a great fighter, his claim to pound for pound  was over 2 washed up fighters, Matthew Hatton could of beat Oscar and Ricky that night.

I love Pac-man but something isn't right here, you have the world in your hands, and you having every big name calling you out.

The biggest right now is Mosley, who presents the biggest Problem from HIM style wise.  Mosley is ready and pretty much on his knees asking for this fight..

Floyd fight will never happen with Pac-man BOB Arum somehow is in a heated dispute with Floyd and hates HIM (Nice way of saying I won't let you fight my guy).

So you take two of the best names and proven boxers in the game and dismiss them, Mosley and Floyd.

Yet you will attend a fight against the one guy you know you have the best shot against, Cotto.

Does something not sit right here? I smell a rat.. don't know what kind of rat but why is Pac-man suddenly obsessed with Cotto and dismissing  Mosley who is READY to fight NOW dropping weight, taking less money ... SIGN the DEAL.

 Suddenly it's making Pac-man look like a chicken.. by dismissing the two legit fighters out there.

I no longer think it's about a few extra bucks, Freddie Roach knows who Pac-man can beat and who he cannot!

Pac-man I love you .. but sign on that Dotted LINE.

I suggest ALL fight fans ROOT for CLOTTEY, then Pac-man MUST FIGHT either Mosley or Floyd,.. OR... CLOTTEY (which he would never do).

Mosley will Happen.. I believe Roach is playing games with Mosley, and he knows Mosley has lost a few steps,( don't get me wrong Mosley is great but NOT as fast or good as he USED to be) if you look past that great victory over Margarito.

 He had a very tough outing against a Mayorga who that night looked like the SUPERIOR boxer. Mayorga? HMMM never thought I would say Ricardo Mayorga and BOXER in the same Sentence!

Cotto/Clottey Floyd/Marquez ALL fighters already locked into fights. Mosley is the FREE MAN.. go for IT!

Far from a guru, I love boxing (mainly the big fights). I'm  like everyone else waiting to see what happens in the 147 division. It's so jam packed right now, but have to call it as I see it (even as a Pac-man FAN).

I think it's pretty simple. Cotto offers significantly less risk, because Pacman can't beat Mosley. Cotto isn't fast and can be hit fairly easily by a fighter such as Pacman. Mosley is quick and has the stamina, DEFENSE, and power to make Manny look like an average fighter.

Pacman would probably beat Cotto via points, and possibly easily if he doesn't get caught too much. However, he would be in for a war with Mosley.

Give the man a few minutes to enjoy his win AND make the best deal.
Even if he declined a Moseley bout, which I don't think he is, I wouldn't have a problem with that.

mosley would be an easy prey for pacmam.mosley is to slow  for pacman and mosley tends to let his guard down.easy victory for pacman ko in the 4th.
what iam interrested is a mayweather pacman  encounter.a classic duel between 2 intellegent figthers.it will show how pacman can adjust to the elusive mayweather and show how can maywether avoid the powerfull punches of pacman. it will also be a figth of power and endurance .who really has the balls to take it.
lastly it will show what stuff loud mouth mayweather is made of,
