Manny won't be fighting Marquez again as it is a major risk and a body taxing fight, which if he plans on Mayweather after he will need to be at his best.
A rematch with Cotto is likely (now he is free from Top Rank if he chooses so), maybe a Bradley, and a fight many boxing fans would like is Canelo (but I feel it is to early for him and he needs more experience, but the money he can earn it would be hard to refuse; also, besides for Mexico and avid boxing fans, Canelo has no draw for a mega-fight). Cotto with the name and his Margarito victory, also being more defensive and a bigger fighter now, this match-up would sell the most and also likely be the most suitable.

most will disagree with this one but I would like to see manny fight brandon rios at 140, rios is young, hungry and has one hell of a chin, and I think he would make one hell of a fight, not like margarito and clottey who were simply punching bags, those 2 put on slow pressure, they fought the fight at mid range, and are tailor made for manny, rios puts on fast pressure and will be in manny's chest all night long and you know what, I actually give rios about a 35 percent shot at actually winning this one. to me manny is not 100 percent focused on boxing, shit I do not even thing that he is 75 percent focused, as we saw against marquez, physically he was ready, but mentally he seemed a 1000 mile away, manny has too many things going on. politics, endorsments, movies, the biggest entorage since ray robinson, you can only keep that shit up for so long, before it catches up with you and as we saw last time out for the first time he was not really focused in the ring and unless he gets rid of at least some of the extra stuff I don't possibly see how his focus will get any better, RIOS vs PACQUIAO will not happen, although I would love to see it. I think maybe timothy bradley just might be next but with their 2 styles I am not sure if this one would be a fight or a headbutting contest?

Manny had trouble with JMM, why would he fight Rios, Manny just need to fight a stay busy fight and wait for Mayweather, he looked old and a young hungry fighter will KO him. Cotto wouldn't actually be a bad match-up at this point.

1. Manny is a boxer that relies heavily on his physical attributes and less on his boxing. It wasn't so long ago Morales beat a one-handed unbalanced Manny.
2. As Manny relies so much of his physical attributes, he will shows a faster decline against fighter because
a) at his age it is common for fighter's to decline
b) although he is a super-athlete, his body has took much wear and tear
3. Marquez is a master technician and has always gave Manny trouble.
4. Marquez also surprised Manny as this fight he was adjusted to the Welterweight unlike when he moved up immediately to fight Mayweather. Remember, this guy was fight 125lbs most his career and then several 130lbs fights , then the catch-weight against Mayweather, the fight when Floyd was two lbs over and Marquez was barely 142lbs!!!! Maybe he had lead in his shorts!

I think I'd want to see Bradley vs. Pacquiao. Bradley isn't coming off a loss and he's in the prime of his career unlike some of Pac's previous opponents.

That would be a good fight, Bradley needs some good wins after calling out Khan and Khan saying yes offering 50/50, then backing out, then Khan losing to Peterson, that had to make him feel stupid.

Zouk, you're right, but Maidana is a strong fighter who will give everything he has which is why he is on HBO, despite the fact that he doesn't have the best boxing skills, but he has heart, pride, solid chin and don't quit til the fight is over. Alot of fighters could take a lesson for him.

The worst part is that Top Rank (Bob) will never put Manny at that much risk, unless he makes all the money, I'm sure he is the real reason Manny hasn't fought Floyd. (Manny would be set for life and could retire win or lose, know he fought almost everyone).

Arum doesn't want Manny to fight Floyd, and Floyd doesn't want to fight Manny yet either. It's both ways... Floyd and Arum would want to see it like 2 years from now, as Manny physically will decline, as will Mayweather but he is such a great boxer and anticipation skills don't fade, giving him a greater edge. As I said, besides Hopkins being great physical shape, he is not a total freak specimen... he has taken care of his body, and besides for 2 fights with Taylor his body has never been at a 12 round war!!! He using technique which beats physical skills in boxing, Morales proved it against Manny in the first fight!

you mentioned that anticipation skills do not fade, I will disagree 100 percent as the brain will be able to tell the body what to do, but as an athlete ages his body will not be able to react like it once did, hence the term not being able to pull the trigger, SUGAR RAY ROBINSON mentioned that he noticed this starting to happen when he was 29 years old and each year it got a little worse, floyd would of beat pacquiao if they fought when they were children, he would of won if they fought when they were teens, when they were in their 20's and he will win when they're in their 30's because he's simply better, always has been, always will be, it is just that simple. this is also the last fucking time I write about this fight until it is signed to happen, lets talk gamboa, donaire, wladimir, or all time greats, we have talked about this one to death, it's a dead horse, for now anyways

ZOUK, not sure if you have read the book sugar ray, it was his auto biography(co written with dave anderson), very good book, very fast read. one of my fav. boxing books, the only downfall, is the fact that he seems to focus a lot on his big loses as opposed to his big wins, but that just tells you the mentality of us fighters, is not the great triumphs that we recollect on the most, it's those fucking losses. to quote a great line from the book robinson said, "I never lost, something just happened to stop me from winning." it's that mentality that made him great.

Give Cotto his rematch at 150+. But im pretty sure team pacquiao will demand a 148 or 149 catchweight.

As I mentioned, I wasn't an avid boxing reader (although I read a lot). Mostly is that the views and opinions of others I careless. Meaning guys like Bert Sugar... not actual auto-bio's..., but also, the things we remember and believe we thought is not always as accurate as we think, we are constantly in change. I've read books as it took people a decade, but before they review what they read 10years ago, they state what they thought then... everyone is inaccurate, to what degree is different.
As far as Robinson's book, I'll order it now and give it a shot. Later!

LOL= Funny I mentioned about memory being unreliable. Also, because we remember with a huge bias, and as our bias changes, memories become distorted and bent. That's why police get as many eye witness testimonies, but 3 people that see the same thing all from the same angle, during separate interviews, each story is slightly to vastly different.
A few brief examples are the "Invisible Gorilla" (book), but it has a youtube clip that they performed on a classroom. It is very simple: I think it's a 6 people passing several basketballs around, but 3 people have white shirts and the others have black. Your job is to count the white shirt pass and catches. Others are told to watch the black shirt team. Since people are now aware of the experiment, they see what 50% the people miss the original time. A person in a gorilla suit walks in between the players, beats his chest and walks out of the the picture. The people watching white shirts, over 50% miss it. Then when told, they watch and believe it is a different clip. The people who saw it the first time say, "How can you miss it?". It is just misdirection.
Another great example comes from one of my books I recommend highly as a must read is Stephen Covey "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People".
He does a paradigm shift (look it up) using a story. Here it is:
He was traveling in a subway, a man gets in with his two sons, the sons are running all over the place bothering the people, this continues, so he finally gets irritated enough to ask the father why he doesn't do something to control his kids. The father replies, "We just got back from the hospital where their mother died. I don't know how to handle it and I guess they don't either."
Suddenly you see the everything differently. That is the power of a paradigm shift. They are the same kids yelling and screaming in the subway, but you look at them and understand them in a different way.

An experiment was conducted in a classroom. All students received a picture not knowing that half saw a different picture than the other half. Group A received this picture of a (Group A) young woman.
Say you were in Group A, and now on the overhead projector, the teacher shows the combined woman. A debate breaks out as Group A says it's a picture (combined woman) of a young woman from a rear angle profile. Group B said "What young woman, that lady is at least in her 70's" They were show the (Group B) old woman picture initially. They debated until they were shown all three pictures and the bias tendencies.

to me the kids are still undisiplined brats, and as they are kids some of that falls on the father, regardless of what life situation that you are going through, no matter how tough, you must act accordingly or face the consequences, gein, dahmer, ridgeway, bundy all had a a lot of excuses for what they did, but I do not look at them any differently because they have some bull shit excuses, to me they are serial killers. all men must be judged by their actions. no excuses, no matter what, life is all about perception some people watch pernell whitaker and say boring, while others watch and say genius,( I say genius), the perception of things has a large impact on who and who we do not get along with, but also is certain cases(rarely) someone with a different perception of things can also make a very interesting and close friend, as long as both have open minds and are willing to listen and learn from each other
