In 1992. poker introduced IRC poker forum and play to the very few online. Then when newsgroups gained popularity before the online BOOM, in 1995 rec.gambling.poker was officially formed. It was not a moderated forum and very helpful with information, connections, etc... it was an outlet that wasn't previously provided. For people assuming it had limited users and information was far from incorrect. Almost every user provided valuable resources that are now available at a click on thousands of sites. There was no spam, no people posting false information purposely, etc... Besides later on the poker site 2+2 (by Mason Malmuth who owned a publishing company for gambling and mainly poker books by him and David Sklansky), RGP was still the best resource as 2+2 had a particular following and it was moderated. The problem is an bad reference to his books or authors was deleted so that early on was a deterrent and turn-off to many. The boxing newsgroup never caught fire and I assume it exists but google used the original platform and boxing was rec.sports.boxing abbrn for recreations.sports.boxing. For example they had Froch by decision, Ward by knockout, etc... none which I thought were likely possibilities barring some rare instance. I use to have and run HSPIC and CSIC... High Stakes Poker Inner Circle in 2003 and Combat Sports Inner Circle. I did not moderate but only allowed credential or referrals to enter, or new requests under 90 day probational period so they weren't spammers, etc.. I realize and utilize other sites more intricate with boxing but it's a sport I rarely find any information I don't have or considered. The MMA information as so many fighters and leagues it is very hard to keep track and have watched the fights, so it is a nice resource as it tells if the fight shows anything worth viewing (not action necessarily, cause limited action is valuable as it shows a defensive ability of an opponent to shut-down another fighter). Covers boxing seems it had 40% consistent posters (whether accurate or not they provide an honest analysis), then 40% that either are clueless or try stimulating problems with false info and accusations, and another 20% constantly come and go or change usernames. As a former forum creator and moderator, the one advantage a moderated forum does is get rid of the junk, and not make new members feel not welcomed or that this site has nothing to offer. I have been a user nearly a decade as it was one of the first well done sites. Two others existed (I won't state under Covers regulations) at the time before sites popped-up all over. A statistical pay service I did use was Statfox FoxSheets that provided great material I ran through self-made handicapping software. Obviously it only worked on certain sports with significant amount of data that could be used to gain an advantage. Only two sports worked and extremely well... NBA totals and NCAA hoops conference play. After it ran and eliminated many toss-ups or accurate lines, I subjectively handicapped.

My point is for those who use and appreciate good information, any suggestions that could be made to help clean-up so to say the boxing forum without leaving it, or other means??? I ask this as it could also be a platform for other forums.
Note: Funny; Most people spam advertisements for tout services on handicapping sites. I started by accident in 2003-2004 on PartyPoker. The site at the time listed how many viewers (and waiting list) and there was over 100,000 people watching the highest stakes they had at the time (which was low according to today, but times changes). They had Limit Hold'em 30-60 (1 game, expanded to 3 games and one 100-200 Limit Hold'em). In the Chat box a poker player and friend ran a high end tout service for millionaires who were looking for other ways to invest. It was the Monte Carlo Investment yada yada. I didn't join as I didn't believe just using computers in the long term betting almost every game could result in a high-end results vs the risk in losing. He asked me on a Saturday morning while i was playing who I like in college hoops to add to his big plays. Rarely, even with so many games on Saturdays I like 13 games... well fortune shined and I went 13-0, while many went 11-0-2, 11-1-1, 12-1-0 or 12-0-1 as it lines moved. I had so many private messages for people offering paying for picks. All I did was charge $50 weekly (paid through site transfers) for 6 weeks ($300 total)... and I quit at March Madness as I was using more stats then subjective analysis. Many friends said charge $500 a day as at 59%, almost 70% big plays was a monster 6 weeks and I could have asked for anything. Unfortunately, the honest truth is I had no confidence in March Madness because teams played out of division and it becomes a crap-shoot on point spreads. I was honest and closed a door I could have exploited. I will post a few forum clips from PartyPoker and other resources regarding my college hoops. I didn't include NBA totals only as I was overwhelmed with the workload I had. You think about it, just 100 people weekly at $50 weekly was 5k, and I made that in 5 days just poker. I also had higher end group of roughly 100 customers paying big money for last minute and constant timing and where to bet... you can do the math as they paid 10-50 times the others. I closed the doors as I went on poker tour for 5 years. I remember 2005 Hopkins-Taylor during WSOP, and I was slightly in a toss-up regarding the fight, but I had to mediocre size to big because that was a rule I did for events I viewed live, as it really made the experience more fun. I was dating a girl who said bet big on Taylor, and I explained it depends on judges... but I'm not a big fan of lucky people, but if people were, she was! Vegas is hopping during fights, and I was able to bet more just with sportbooks in Vegas as the fight was under the NSAC. I quit dice as a kid at Casinos but I had her role just for fun and it turned in to a 4 days LUCKY swing. I took 25% of those winnings (it was over 100k) and bet everywhere I could on Taylor despite my feelings of experience. The one thing I had in favor with cheating and judges is people had no idea how long Hopkins would last but felt Taylor was the next lbs-for-lbs best, so he would get the nod. I didn't bet the rematch as usually very close fights the first fight winner tends to lose a SD, thus making a Trilogy. I know someone posted something regarding 1st fight winners win 80% of rematches, but that's using old stats. Today's to much cash in Trilogies!!!!!
Thanks for your patience in reading and I hope to get positive replies!
