What do you think of the two HBO bouts? I like both to end ITD.
Damn, I knew Rahman was check seeking, but really thought it wouldn't have been THAT obvious. I was betting on him doing nothing other than trying to survive and go rounds. He didn't even try. Pathetic fight and/or wager. Ouch...
Del Valle and Darchinyan is an INTERESTING fight. I'm not overly impressed with Del Valle, as he has simply blown through fighters that suck. Throwing him in with Darchinyan (even though he is moving up in weight yet again) is very dangerous and not really a necessary step in building up Del Valle.
While Del Valle is favored to outpoint Vic, I don't know about that. I haven't really seen him put on any boxing clinics and that doesn't appear to be his style. Like I said, he has basically been walking down inferior fighters and bombing them out. We all know Vic isn't a masterful technician and welcomes gritty fights. Somebody is going to catch a beating in an entertaining fight. I took under 9.5 rounds in the fight at +180, 10 units to win 18.
Escalera and Rodriguez is another questionable choice by matchmakers. Rodriguez is blossoming and progressing nicely into a contender in the packed super middleweight division. So you put him up against a relatively unknown, unbeaten fighter with some pop? It's just plain stupid.
To say Escalera has fought cans would be flattering. However, he has mowed them down. Is he any good? Can he actually box? Who the hell knows. What I do know is that IF Escalera can take one to give one, Rodriguez could be in for a very tough night. Taking a bit of a leap here and betting on the on the unknown. For as vague as it may be, I see a bit of "kill or be killed" in Escalera. No real amateur pedigree, just a true fighter. Going out on a limb and took Escalera ITD, +785, 4 units to win 31.4.

Del Valle is exactly what I thought he was. However, the kid is one tough bastard and has a GREAT chin. He'll be a terror when he isn't matched against a slugger like Darchinyan. Darchinyan handed out a beating in a great fight that somehow went the distance.
Escalera simply not on Rodriguez's level. He got jumped on quick and should have been stopped in the first round, imo. Game fighter, just hasn't developed nearly enough for meaningful fights yet.
Big swing and a miss yesterday. -23 units.

I thought Escaleras beating was way to much. why let him take all that needless punishment. Bad corner. He was outclassed and it showed early. Rodriguez isn't ready for the top tier guys either. 168 is a tough weight class. I could name 6 off top of head that would beat him easily..
