Over 7.5 Rounds (-105)
1 Unit
Featherweights Jorge Linares and Gamaliel Diaz meet in the resort-city of Cancun, Mexico tonight as part of Night of Champions PPV. The 22 year old Linares is a heavy favorite (-1700), making a play on him out of the question unless I was to include him in a parlay. I do see value in he over 7.5 rounds proposition, despite Linares having stopped his last 3 opponents ISD. At 22-6-2, Diaz has only 1 loss in the last 6 years and that came against the capable Robert Guerrero. 5 of his losses came very early in his career and he has gone the distance in 3 of his last 4 fights. I expect Linares to win tonight, possibly in a convincing fashion, but I also think the oddsmakers may be underestimating Diaz because of his somewhat questionable record. Therefore, I see value on the over 7.5 rounds proposition at nearly even money. Linares may very well score a KO, but I don't see it happening until somewhere late in the fight, possibly in the 8th or 9th round.
