Showtime Spectacular - Tarver vs Dawson, Peter vs Klitschko

Surprised there is basically no discussion on this.  A really nice night of fights this Saturday.  I took Tarver BIG at +215.  His style is perfect for Dawson and his questionable chin and defensive skills.  I also put a decent play on Peter at +130  because there is so much up in the air for his fight vs Vitali.  Long layoffs, huge punches, big heart, good chins, it'll be an exciting heavyweight fight.

taver will not beat dawson. don't be fooled by dawsons poor showing against johnson, GJ is a rough night for anyone at 175. too much youth and talent for the magic man to handle at his advanced age. i'm with you on peter. theres going to be a ton of ring rust on vitali.

tough fights to bet on this weekend, still haven't decided who I will go with...just thinking about betting on tarver's ass makes me sick tho lol...good luck!

How is Dawson going to beat Tarver?? To say he stops him is laughable.  Tarver has a granite chin, Dawson's is made of porcelain.  Dawson has great offense, fast combinations and all, but he does not have good power.  He is VERY hittable, Tarver is a lot faster and more technical then Glen Johnson.  Tarver will explot every weakness and mistake Dawson makes.  People keep saying he's over the hill.  Clinton Woods is 1-1-1 vs Glen Johnson.  Tarver got robbed the first fight vs Johnson (in fact it was a lot more competitive then Dawson's effort) and gave him a boxing lesson in the rematch.  Tarver is up and down, but he knows this is his last run, so expect him to come out and knock out or soundly outpoint Dawson.  Dawson was dominating Adamek and still got dropped.

I like Peter because of Vitali's injury history and the fact he has been off for so long.  Peter recovers well and should win with his power.  But I'm a lot more confident in Tarver winning.

if klitschko loses looks like i'll be eating poop crusted shorts.

...though if peter gets juicier I may just have to take the middle and hope brook pulls it off because most of the parlays are already well into it.

hopin tarver wins.

like Peter, but have always thought that Tarver has been overrated and Dawson should take care of him.

Tarver outclassed Woods, a guy who beat Johnson, and outclassed Johnson big time in the rematch.  The first fight which he got robbed, was a lot more competitive then the beat down Johnson gave Dawson.  Tarver has a better chin, is a better puncher, a better boxer, and a smarter fighter.  Easy money.

Big chunky Sam has a chance here. Remember, he has fought this sort of fight before and is adept at pushing the taller man away from the cinch and landing something immediately. There is the ever present chance the Russian splits a nail or something. All the big money is on Vitali, but…You just might eat those shorts.
