I think Froch has serious power on some of his punches. It just depends on how much leverage he commits. Froch's pretty good at throwing "bullshit punches" and then surprising you with the hard stuff. As far as defense, I think Froch has the IQ to be slick, but he's simply not fast enough to be as cute as he wants to be. I said in another post back during the Frock-Kessler buildup that Froch would be pound for pound material if he were faster/quicker. I still believe that way but I feel Abraham will KO him. I can see Abraham baiting Froch into throwing "around the guard". Abraham will let this happen for 2 rounds and then in the 3rd he'll time Froch with hard punches. Abraham is usually slow for the first 4 rounds, but after the Dirrell lesson he'll most likely start fighting in the 3rd as opposed to the 5th. I beleive to beat Abraham you have to do what Dirrell did, unfortunately Froch simply doesn't have Dirrell's speed. Abraham has deceptively fast hands and I highly favor his spped and power vs Froch.

McNulty firstly good thread. Secondly, alot of what will happen here will come down to what the situation is going in. Right now Froch and Abraham are due to fight last. Showtime and the promoters have made a mistake here. Let me explain.
If the semi's were right now, we would have Ward v Froch, Abraham v Kessler. Dirrell needs to beat Ward to advance and Green needs to KO Kessler within 3 rounds to advance. I am ruling Green out (I never ruled him in). So what should have happened here is the Kessler v Ward and Froch v Abraham should have been the first 2 fights up with Dirrell v Ward the last fight (with everything on the line for Dirrell) . I am amazed the promoters haven't coped onto this.
We are probably now going to be in the situation where Froch and AA are through before they fight and this will dramatically change how the fight is fought. Why go to war if you don't have too? This is a very tough spot for a fighter to be in. You were a boxer as was I, McNulty. Now you can't fight half pace, this I know but if I am in their shoes I would be looking to engage as least as possible.
I have a HUGE feeling that there is going to be alot of controversy here final stage. I have never bet a draw before but that's exactly what I am playing with Ward and Dirrell (just in case). I would hate to bet big on Ward and a dodgy draw gets called, so I will definitely be hedging on the draw here. Also, as you all know Dirrell and Ward are having problems agreeing to fight and nothing has been signed yet. Expect an agreement on Vegas and a change of date to after Froch v Abraham. A draw with suit both guys perfect and I bet the odds for a draw will be alot lower for this fight then others.
Now if Froch and Abraham box with everything on the line (loser could go out), then I LOVE AURTHUR in this spot. I expect Froch to have suucess early doors. His looping Hooks will work a treat early doors against that guard of Abraham. Those will be his tactics. Box on the outside, double jab, looping hooks to the head and the body. It won't last though. Eventually Aurthur will let his hands go and when he catches Froch flush, the war in the trenches will begin. Froch is simply not good or intelligent enough boxer to enough to keep Abraham off him. I mean Dirrell is as slick as they get and you saw Abraham getting to him from round 9 onwards. AA will get to him ALOT sooner.
Froch is so easy to hit and the crowd is going to be pro Abraham so when he does hits they will be making noise. If Froch does not win this very decisively he will not win on the cards in Monaco. I think judging wise AA still has a huge advantage here. Froch once said he would never box east of Nottingham. He may regret not sticking to his guns.
Add to the fact he is a new father, lost his belt and aura of an undefeated fighter I think AA is a cracking bet at near evens. Sadly if there is nothing on the line, I can't play big......

Nulty I am starting to like Authur more and more here. I need to check the rules here, but do seeds 1 and 2 get home advantage for the semi? If thats the case a AA win would probably give him home advantage and he would have more to fight for then Froch who realistically cant get a home semi (considering his head to head with Kessler). Number of things can happen before fight night but as of now I am going to unload on AA come fight night..
When you consider the intangibles a near pick em could be the value bet of this year
