Being a 9-1 favorite doesn't show how good Pacquio is. It shows how much of a disadvantage his opponent against. It's not that Pac-man is 9 times better than Mosley but at this stage in his career Mosley given age and lack luster performances not like he had a real shot. Hence 9-1 odds.
Basically he's taking guys either too slow, at a catch weight (his catch weight) or guys past their prime. What even worse is he's fighting many "ARUM" guys, and guess who makes double the cash$$$ ARUM!
While I blame Pac-man I mean he does have his own brain, majority of the blame goes on Arum and even worse the people who KEEP purchasing this stuff.
There are two fights out there and only one willing opponent Teddy was right. Sergio Martinez.. and Floyd, now given Floyd may never fight again or they may never fight each other until you beat a LEGIT guy in HIS PRIME Manny is at his and Sergio Martinez is at the TOP of his right now.
Manny can't use Size as an excuse he fought Margarito at 154 but in reality Margarito came in at fight NIGHT WAY BIGGER.
Sergio will gain a few pounds but won't pack on tons of weight and is really a 154 fighter who moved up in weight to get bigger fights. Sergio will come in at FIGHT NIGHT less than what Margarito did.
Let him fight the FIGHTER of 2010, and make a deal for fight of the YEAR November 2011 against Sergio.
This will put the pressure on Floyd and show Floyd there are "others" out there and right now Martinez is the only other option.
Until his last 3-4 fights Martinez was a gritty fighter who people avoided, he has beaten tough opposition and earned this shot.
Screw Pac and Floyd Give me Martinez and Pac-man.
You know what we will get .. Pacquio vs Marquez III (because Marquez isn't the same fighter as he was those years back.
Marquez past 135 really doesn't pack power, while they can show replays of the two fights and it will "SELL". Manny has moved up MANY weight classes up and down like it's nothing.
Marquez has slowed down and is at the END of his career, pac-man right smack in his prime.
Pacquio fighting guys past their prime, "NAMES" that people recognize but in reality guys with little to no chance at winning, Maragrito a guy people "hoped" could walk through Pac-man,
Mosley hoping AFTER getting embarrassed by Floyd people hoped he can "turn back the clock. Oscar at a catch weight where he looked as if he had some disease.
Credit has to be given to Pacquio he has the speed, not brutal power but stinging power, he has good footwork and he's a likeable guy. He has earned all that, but it's about time we see him with a guy who has a CHANCE at competing.
Teddy Atlas was correct in pointing that out, if he fights Martinez, with no "catch weights" then people will start believing this is for real.
Let Manny fight Sergio OR Floyd see how that line is priced, Then you can see what an "evenly matched fight is" :)

yeah i would love to see sergio vs manny, but we all know what everyone wants to see mayweather vs pacquiao, hopefully dey figure out the differences cuz this is a fight, boxing needs. its looking like a shame, they need to fight in there primes. i dont want to see a old mayweather vs a old pacman later down the road fighting because of money

Atlas spoke the truth, point blank. People are finally starting to catch on. Pacquiao needs to take equal parts blame as Arum.
They signed an older version of Mosley who was basically on a 2 fight losing streak [nothing new], made him come back down to 147 and etc.The moon was in line with the sun and Manny looked about as sloppy as a steaming bowl of alpo.
Mayweather fought a fresher Mosley who had just come off a spectacular KO win against a fighter who's been down 1x in his entire career and Floyd hit him at will. Which is something Manny couldn't do. Where was his mythical hand and foot speed to help him cut the ring off? Looks fast on the bag, but why never in the ring? Punches still sloppy as hell, right hook still looks like ass 10 years later.
Mayweather might not be the smiling photo-op face that fans adore, his attitude sucks...but at least he isn't manipulating and ruining the sport of boxing.

Manny weighs in at 145 in a 147 weightclass.
Sergio is way bigger than Manny. Sergi, himself, is not a draw. If Sergio wants big money fights, he should move up 8 pounds to fight the supermiddleweights who have name, draw power, and clout. He is closer to their size than Manny is to his.
Now when you complain about Manny not taking on challenges... no one has stepped up. People talked about Berto. He could have put himself in the picture by beating Mosley. He canceled that fight (understandably), then lost to Ortiz. People talked about Bradley and Alexander. They had a great chance to put themselves at the forefront by beating the other. What happened? Shitfest fight with little action and a head butt. Now no one is talking about them.
So instead you get Manny fighting bigger names with more drawing power but arent competitive. I dont blame Arum or Pacquiao. Those other guys failed to capture the publics attention but wants a big payday, anyway. Guys like Hatton, Cotto, Margarito have a sizable fanbase. Just based on that, they get mega fights. Martinez, Berto, Alexander and Bradley dont. They have to go earn it. In Sergio's case, its by moving up.

Manny fought Margarito at 154 who came in MUCH heavier at fight night, That was my point. Martinez is a true 154 fighter who moves up to 160 to collect bigger pay checks.
If Manny can fight Margarito at 154 (and let Margarito blow up to way higher than SERGIO does). Why can't he fight Sergio? I'm sure Sergio will fight at 154.
There is NO reason why Manny shouldn't fight him.
To say Martinez is NOT a draw is a huge mistake, maybe he didn't get the PPV's pac-man did but he is a HUGE DRAW NOW.
Take the last 3 fights Martinez has had... versus Manny and you will see why Sergio was fighter of the year last year.
Two fights Pac-man won't take is Floyd and Sergio.
He will take an aged Marquez and retire.

Manny fought Margarito at a catchweight of 150 lbs. Manny weighed in for the fight at 144.5 lbs. If he fought at 154 limit, he would be outweighed by 10 pounds just at the weigh ins before the rehydrate. And Sergio would have a hard time making 150.
Manny has never weighed in at 147 for a 147 limit fight. Martinez has weighed in at 160 for a 160 limit fight. Martinez is closer to supermiddleweight than Manny is to middleweight.
Sergio Martinez is not a draw. That says nothing about his great skills as a boxer but he just isnt. His biggest fights against a similarly highly skilled and highly rated fighter in Paul WIlliams couldnt amount to a PPV. For this reason Martinez makes a terrible opponent. High risk with little financial reward.
And despite this past year he is still not a draw. Thats why he's in a pickle. He has no big paydays available opponents wise in the 154 and 160 lb divisions. He could seek out Cotto, the only draw in that weight range but again why would Cotto want the fight. Cotto himself is a draw and he can get the same payday fighting Margarito as he can with Sergio.
Again this is the business end of boxing.

I can't see Floyd taking the Martinez fight either, too dangerous of a fight.
Martinez is getting long in the tooth he better start calling people out, stop being a Mr Nice guy it's a business and start calling these two out.
Maybe that will get Floyd-Pac to fight each other. Both guys will go to the hall of fame regardless if they fight or NOT.
Fans will never forget they shit on us though :)
