Because the Public Likes manny!!!! Chew on that, but don't swallow.
But on the serious side..... I think Manny has the superior attacking speed, and power, but Floyd Has the boxing I.Q and the ability to adjust inside the ropes and naturally look for ways to counter.
All manny knows is attack....
But Boxing in the lower weight classes is sometimes more than that. In the heavyweight this theory may not hold up, but in the 140's where boxers can get hit and adjust.. I think floyd brain has to a factor when capping this fight, also floyd do not like taking risks in the ring so that will not play into manny hands or style.
These are just early Observations for other to note when capping this mega fight if we ever are able to get ink to paper.
They say in N.F.L Football... Defense wins championships...
Well we both know floyd has one of the best defenses ever.
But we also know manny has one of the best offenses ever, so which one will win.
I vote defense in the lower weights.

public wants manny but sharps like floyd as seen on 20k bets early on... anyway i dont think there will be a fix here because too much pride is at stake and too much money already is in the purse. manny would not have gotten the record if he did not have the boxing i.q. even if roach lays the game plan, he still is not the one boxing in ring and making the adjustments as what manny did vs cotto. also, if manny picked his fights like floyd did picking fights he knew he would win and knew he had the advantage, then you would think that manny has a way superior boxing i.q because obviously he would dominate every opponent with his defense and offense. floyd has not fought someone like manny, he has fought slow fighters and not even close to mannys speed and accuracy, his head movements will be negated once manny lets him taste his speed and power.

The Floyd Mayweather Jr. Foundation team was out today in Las Vegas, doling out 250 hot Thanksgiving meals to the homeless today, at Owens and Main Street. Though the champ was not present, Mayweather’s manager, Leonard Ellerbe, was part of the crew handing out meals. Ellerbe commented on Mayweather-Pacquiao negotiations, saying, “Floyd has proved himself the undisputable champion and numbers don’t lie. If the fight happens, he deserves the lion’s share of the purse.” – Chris Cozzone

Toot3r........... You make a good point, That is a wild card once manny lands a good shot on mayweather and rattles him then the fight will change...
Floyd is getting older also, he will be 33 and a half next year by the time this fight takes place.. His reflexes to me seemed slower in the last fight...
Apart of me wants to think that floyd will be a more strategic fighter and win that way, but the more I think about it... Manny just knocked out a big ass welterweight....
Manny got to be the Hardest Hitting son of a gun... Pound for Pound....

not only is he a hard hitter, he also takes hard hits, look at his face after the cotto fight, other fighters would have not went that long taking those punches from cotto during the first 4 rounds, but manny even lets cotto hit him for FREE but still was not even rattled. mayweather is a fast puncher but i dont know if he has the power like mannys when he does his speed thing, i also dont think his defense will be a factor, it only seems like a great factor for floyd during his previous fights and this is only because his opponents were slow and always stands in front of him. this will be a great fight because it could go other way, they will not fight sparring partners that would equal both opponents, they have not faced anyone like each other, and the only time they will face someone as good as the other is on the fight itself, not during sparring not from previous fights, only the day itself so this fight is great and boxing i.q and adjustment capability once the bell rings is the key in beating the other one since they have not faced anyone with the same skill as the other

...........FLOYD will win this fight if he runs but toe to toe with the speed and power of MONEY PAQUIAO he'll get KO'd
