Although there is now Friday Night Fights on ESPN2 among other broadcasts on different channels, I really miss Tuesday Night Fights. With all the pay channels, PPV fights, youtube clips, ESPN (including Classics), MSG, marathon broadcast on a variety of channels, webcast, etc, etc..., even with all the modern day resources that are accessible which are great (especially youtube to view a few past fights to help analyze and upcoming bout) somewhere I still miss Tuesday's fights. It's been since 1998 it was cancelled as I feel it seems like almost yesterday. I'm not a tv show type person as I don't follow any particular series like the die hard Survivor fans who have to watch it live and shut-off their phone to avoid being disturbed (lol). There are a few shows I will watch or record and view them at my discretion. The exciting thing about Tuesday Night Fights was the suprise element. I will elaborate some more. Unlike today when every event has been viewed and seen (including boxing matches), very often on Tuesday Night Fights sometimes only little was known about different fighters for many reasons. One is this may be their first fight in the U.S., or it was a fighter making his debut, possibly a journeyman fighter just returning trying to resurrect his career. It really brought a suprise element constantly as many question marks surrounded the bouts. For me it provided a nice outlet during a weekday to enjoy a sport I was actively involved with and just as much a fan. I also believed it helped shape my ability to analyze fights at a young age. For those who got to watch it (1982-1998) during a time media video wasn't a click away I'm sure had great appreciation for what it provided. For any fans who have any interesting, funny memories or recall any great fights, it would be a pleasure to read any posts. Thanks for your indulgence.

Anthony Hembrick dancing like an idiot during his ring entrance and then getting KOd by Booker T Word in 1 round (that was 21 fn years ago!!!) I remembered that instantly shocked to find it online
The Jorge Paez Calvin Grove fights were good
I still have that USA's TNF t shirt . on the back it says Tuesday Night Fights really knock me out and has a picture of a glove punching through the TV

NJDevils: Wow, nice recall on the Grove vs Paez matches. Thanks for the post. Also, it was a classic because it's calimed to be the last 15 round title fight in history (although speculation that one other in occurred in I think it was flyweight, and possibly others, not that it matters). It's noted most placed as the last 15 round title fight in boxing. I made a thread about 15 vs 12 rounds and funny this fight fits the subject. Grove was knocked down 3 times in the 15th round. The final scorecard was: Jim Traylor 142-142 | Dave McCullough 140-143 | Robert Gonzalez 140-142. Had those 3 knockdowns not occurred, Grove would have held onto the IBF featherweight title.

mojo822: I remember friends saying the same thing. Thunder had only 1 loss in 14 fights between 1994-1996 and also because he had a big ripped muscular physique like a bodybuilder, the not so analytical laymen fan though he was the next great heavyweight. He did have an 80% KO average on fights he won so he was exciting and a perfect fighter for Tuesday Night Fights providing constant action and also fans loved (and still do) and prefer heavyweights. He also boasted the fastest KO of 1.5 seconds before the count started (one punch fight).
