I think he is over-priced
but I also think he is going to win

I don't think Miranda can take a punch anymore.  At all.

He certainly his a puncher's chance.  But either way, this is going under.

-225 on the fight WONT GO the distance I feel is the best play, you need neither fighter, you have 11 rounds and 2 minutes and 59 seconds.


This is MUCH better than laying -330 on Ward who has been on the deck EARLY in his fights. His first pro fight... Against Molina down 2X,
his next fight Kenny Kost had him really hurt in the second round).
Darnell Boone dropped him in the 4th round.

Miranda was naturally a 160 FIGHTER.  He moved up after the Pavlik fight why I don't know. Interesting enough he has come in at  172 3/4 and his last fight  178 3/4. This was a guy until Pavlik came in at 160 or less!

Miranda is only 28, so weight is not an issue, it shows Miranda is in there for the early KO, and once he doesn't get it he's bowing out.

I doubt Miranda has even trained his last few fights, does anyone find that disturbing, a man who fought at 160 his whole life after Pavlik, moves up a weight class, then his last 2 fights, he comes in almost 173 and almost 179...

Given Ward has been facing D level Competition, and fighting a guy who has a 4 round game plan, (which is good because after 4 rounds Ward is safe).

This will NOT go the distance, even inside the over/under 9.5 rounds looks juicy at -120 but to play it safe -225 is the best bet!

Ward is severely untested, Miranda is a straight forward fighter with not a lick of defense. Also Ward told yahoo (at least where I read it) he is going toe to toe with Miranda.

Miranda came in at almost 179 on March 20th, he fought Joey Vegas in UK  lol!  That tells you where Mirandas career is going, career down the tubes, weight past the roof.

Ward will beat Miranda. I may not be sharp enough to pick between ITD or 12 round decision, but I certainly wouldn't feel good about backing Miranda to have the stamina to go the distance. It would shock me if Miranda ever won another fight of any significance. He is a completely spent force, he doesn't like to fight, and he doesn't train anymore.

Might be a good spot for an ITD play at plus...hometown edge going in for the kill adding to what you mentioned about Miranda above..

We'll have to see how Ward looks here.  I don't expect him to struggle with Miranda.

But as of now, I'd say Green KOs Ward.

Goossen is Ward's promoter as well, and he said Ward has a lot to say about how he wants his career to go.

Being patient and smart is what Ward wants. He is a fighter who lives by the credo of hit and don't be hit. It's a style that some have said isn't the most exciting. But Ward said that is of no concern to him.

"I tell those critics what I told Miranda on a conference call," Ward said. "He said I've never been in a good fight before. My goal is not to be in a good fight. I'm sorry, that's just the way it is. I think if the audience can appreciate the sport as a whole and what they are looking at, they can appreciate my style."

Ward correctly points out he is not a runner. Rather he is a quick-handed boxer who doesn't get hit with many clean punches.

"So I'm not giving the (so-called) crowd-pleasing performance, which in this day and age is both guys getting beat up," Ward said. "That's not what I'm in this game for."

I got Miranda at +325 on matchbook. . .  Worth a shot to me

Ward was also quoted on Yahoo saying he is going toe to toe with Miranda

"I don’t know how the fight is going to play out, but the bottom line is I will do anything and everything I have to do to get a victory,” Ward said. “Everybody, Miranda included, may be surprised how much I am going to be front of him. I think everybody thinks I am going to box and move. But I am not going to fight passively.”

Both guys have semi-suspect chins, Allan Green a more Polished fighter, would truly have to see how Ward looks tonight against a washed up Miranda.

When Miranda Fought Green he was at his best, since then he has ballooned up and personally I don't even believe he trains.

Right now the nod would go to Green, but I don't see this fight happening anytime soon.

Yes a hay maker within the first 4 rounds after that he gets tko'd it's why Wards trainers took the fight, Miranda is a shot fighter doesn't train anymore and I will love to see what he weighs in tonight (after he rehydrates).

He's a complete straight forward BUM, after 4 rounds if Ward hasn't been dropped, He will issue a beat down so bad Miranda will probably retire (he should of coming in at 173 3/4 and almost 179 his last two fights).

Once  a boxer who used to be a star goes to the UK to take a fight against Joey Vegas ... and comes in at 179 pounds (at weigh in) it tells you everything you need to know about Miranda.

He's coming for the quick K.O tonight if he doesn't get it adios he will get ko'd! I know Miranda didn't train (not inside information) I just know it in my heart he doesn't train anymore. He's a shot fighter who cannot go the distance anymore, and has become a good friend with the canvas :)
