It's about time they posted the odds for this weekend's action. I don't think the books did a very good job of dividing the action last weekend and with the notable exception of Hearns, got creamed by a lot of players. Well, there's some great action this weekend and some nice odds again, so onto the picks.
Randall Bailey vs Francisco Figueroa Figueroa +275 (Sportsbook) 1 unit
Librado Andrade vs Vitali Tsypko Under 9.5 rounds (+125) (Bodog) 2.5 units
Michael Katsidis vs Jesus Chavez Chavez +285 (Sportsbook) 1 unit
5 leg parlay: Librado Andre, Edgar Sosa, Edwin Valero, Vicente Escobedo and Timothy Bradley (+223) (Sportsbook) 1 unit

Just got back from the Lightweight Lightning weigh in here in Austin. Got to meet Bernard Hopkins before the event began, which was really cool. Classy guy all around.
No major surprises from the weigh in except for Jesus Chavez coming in a half pound over, then getting re-weighed a minute later and coming in 1/4 pound over. Left the event before seeing if he made it - hard to imagine him not dropping that little with over an hour's time. Katsidis did look very strong and is a bit taller than Chavez.
Valero looked every bit as scary as you'd imagine. Pitalua is a funny looking dude. Seems like he belongs on one of those wacky comedy shows on Galavision or something. Valero got him to flinch during the staredown by suddely bobbing his head in at him after they had stood there for about 30 seconds. Pretty hilarious move.
Diaz and Reyes both looked great. Diaz is a bit more muscled for sure. Both were brimming with confidence.
Escobedo looked great. Hernandez came in a tad over and looked a little soft.
I'll be at the card tomorrow, starting around 6 PM CST. The actual pay per view broadcast starts around 8 PM CST.

I'm on alot of favorites this week, and no one else seems to be. The only dog I like is Pitalua. Valero is just the sloppiest boxer around. He has hardly any skill, and I think Pitalua is going to get him. I also LOVE Katsidis. I think he's just too strong for Chavez. He'll overwhelm him, because Chavez won't be able to keep him away.
I just played this parlay:
100/686.22
Bailey -350
Andrade -500
Katsidis -365
Pitalua +300

Any particular reason you're betting heavy on the under for Andrade/Tsypko?
Andrade is too big and powerful, as he overwhelms most capable fighters inside the distance. Only the elite boxers have given him trouble (Kessler, Bute), and even Bute was out on his feet by the end. If Tsypko was a quick and elusive guy, I'd give him a better chance to go the distance. But the fact is that Tysko's there to be hit, and I don't think he'll be able to withstand 9.5 rounds of punishment from Andrade.

I don't know how anyone can bet against Valero at this point. Sure, he may have a somewhat decieving (sp) record and 100% KO rate, but he isn't fighting for cheap! Not to mention that he is headlining this big PPV = recipe for a nice Valero showcase

Valero looked animalistic in person. Very focused, not much smiling and downright intimidating. I can't imagine him not pulverizing the odd ball Pituala, who happened to look very rattled after Valero's aggressive posturing during the stare off.

Congrats on the parlay cashing for you and pulling you back. Hope you had a blast at the card, don't know how you couldn't have with the action you saw.
