Eddie Chambers vs. Calvin Brock Chambers -145 1.45 units
On paper, this looked like an even matchup between Chambers' youthful, speedy pace and Brock's deliberate boxing style. But Brock weighed in at 241, which is just too heavy for a guy whose natural boxing weight is 225. That's what Brock weighed when he gave Wladimir Klitschko a good fight last year, but since then Brock has steadily ballooned. Brock will be at his heaviest fighting weight on Friday night, and that's a bad sign against Chambers, whose movement could tire Brock out by the middle rounds. Meanwhile, Chambers weighed in at 213, which is a good weight for him. I'm expecting a lopsided decision win for Chambers due to the fact that Brock won't be able to keep up with him, and Chambers' defense is good enough to avoid any flush shots from the Boxing Banker.

Martin Honorio vs. Robert Guerrero Honorio +300 .5 unit
It's an understatement to say this has been a tough week for Robert "The Ghost" Guerreo. After learning that his 23 year old wife Casey wife had been diagnosed with leukemia, Guerrero did not make weight yesterday afternoon and had to spend over an hour shedding 1.5 pounds to reach the 126 pound limit for tonight's fight against Golden Boy's Martin Honorio. Guerrero, owner of a solid 20-1-1 record, is likely to have his mind on other things as he enters the ring against the recently dominant Honorio, who has won 5 straight decisions. Priced at +300, Honorio (24-3-1) has been an attractive underdog since the line was posted and the circumstances outside of the ring for Guerreo seem to underscore his value as a live dog. I expect this fight to go to the cards, with Honorio's intense work rate and constant pressure winning him a mild upset against a potentially weakened and distracted Guerrero.

Yeah, Calzaghe totally outclassed Kessler, which really surprised me because I thought the fight would be a bit closer. It's not that Kessler was overrated or anything; Calzaghe's just a notch above everyone else around him. Calzaghe showed a good chin, although I don't think Kessler's power matches someone like Pavlik. Hmmm...wouldn't that be a little more exciting than the prospects of Hopkins-Zags?
