What Fight Were The HBO Announcers Watching?

OK ..... I'll be the first to admit I was wrong on the betting outcome. I had Mosley plus the 15 handicap points, but for these announcers to say that Floyd didn't fight a defensive minded fight is totally bizarre. Just because he didn't run around the ring on a bicycle, doesn't mean he wasn't still boxing a defensive oriented strategy. He still threw practically NO combination punches. It was 1 or 2 potshots at a time which (I hate to admit) proved to be more then enough. He was just plain TOO FAST. End of story. As for Mosley.. I thought he fought a stupid game plan. No body punching till the end of the fight. Never tried to rough Mayweather up in the clinches. He also seemed surprisingly stiff throughout the entire bout. It's hard to believe a man with his boxing experience let his nerves get the best of him, but it certainly appeared that way. This, I did not count on & was the biggest disappointment in analyzing  the bout. When Mosley hurt Floyd in the 2nd, it might have been a blessing in disguise for Money. Shane seemed to try & load up on every shot after that which played right into Mayweather's hands. I still am not sold on Mayweather being a GREAT all around fighter. Every great boxer I ever saw through punches in combination's, plus had the ability to take his man out when he had them badly hurt. Floyd always seems to do enough to win, but hardly ever in spectacular fashion. That's the way I see it. Can Pacman beat Money? I'm beginning to have my doubts because of the steroid issue. No boxer passes up millions of dollars because they are afraid of a needles. Pacman's definitely on the juice, and if forced to fight clean..... who knows how well he can preform.

I had SSM tonight. IMO Shane had this fight in the second round. PBF has never been hit like he was with two shots in the 2nd round. It was close to over, but SSM didnt jump on him when PBF couldnt even fight back and was clearly hurt. From that point on Shane was breathing heavy from his mouth and clearly looked tight and winded. It was so strange to see from a fighter of his caliber and with his experience. He was ahead in the fight and just stiffened and quit. He could not even attack anymore with no punches and let PBF dictate the fight. You would think PBF controlled this fight from the start the way Shane tightened up.

Floyd was stunned not hurt badly the second one that buckled him  was a temple shot. He was never seriously "hurt".

Shane didn't blow his wad in the 2nd round, Shane has always been a slugger with the "look" of a boxer.

He "flicks" the jab he doesn't have a real jab.

His Trainer gave him excellent advice and he didn't follow it.

Shane knew Floyd was too fast and the best counter puncher in boxing so he had no choice but to try to land a big punch (when he isn't a BIG puncher).. he's a volume puncher just like Floyd.

If you LOOK at the punch stats it wasn't that Mosley wasn't throwing he wasn't landing that's called defense.

Mosley learned the more you throw the MORE you get hit from Floyd. - Pac-fans may want to take that into consideration :-)

Floyd beat Mosley EASILY, the same Mosley Pac-man ducked and NO ONE van deny he didn't duck Mosley.. look at Mosley begging for the fight was willing to go to 142/143 take 40 % purse... did everything but offer a blow job to Pac-man.. and Freddie Roach said "no way".

As soon as Pac-man loses this election, the fans will now make him fight or retire.

We are at the point where there are NO boxers at 147 that if they don't fight each other they're better off BOTH retiring.

Personally I believe if and when Floyd fight's Pac-man .. he will retire after that fight.

Floyd is a business man he like all of us in our careers .. want to make as much as possible and get out before you wind up with brain damage.

The public will NOT accept Pac-man fighting anyone else but FLOYD especially since Pac-man is supposedly the P4P champion..

Floyd made it simple ... take the blood tests .. and we fight how hard is that?     


Go look at the punch stats, Shane wasn't "tired" he MISSED so many punches he threw a ton he just missed, and I think we all know it takes more energy to MISS than it does to land.

As Mosley's trainer told him your waiting for a perfect shot "There is NO perfect shot against this guy".
     
Everyone can say all they want but there is no "Blue Print" to beat Floyd- he adapts DURING the fight so makes a blue print useless.

I think you're pretty far off here. I have looked at the stats, and Shane was not throwing nearly enough to have any chance against Floyd. In fights with Cotto and Margarito, Shane threw an average of 64 and 56 punches per round respectively. In this fight against Floyd, he threw only 452 total punches. That's less than 38 punches per round. Anyone who allows Floyd to dictate the pace and fight a slow fight is going to lose.
