I like three team win totals. One of them I absolutely love! I will also be throwing down on that team to win the Grey Cup. It doesn't even necessarily mean I think they will win the Grey Cup, but I believe it has a lot of value. It could set up a potential hedge bet when they make the playoffs as well. Good luck if you decide to play along this season.
Montreal Alouettes over 7.5 wins -118
Risking 3.54 units to win 3 units
Montreal Alouettes to win the 2016 Grey Cup +1200
Risking 1 unit to win 12 units
Calgary Stampeders under 11.5 wins -118
Risking 1.18 units to win 1 unit
Ottawa Redblacks under 9.5 wins -111
Risking 1.11 units to win 1 unit
That is it for me. I also liked the Bombers over 6.5 wins and the Riders under 7.5 wins, but ultimately decided to pass. All lines courtesy of Sports Interaction.
This Als team reminds me a lot of the 2014 team that went to the East Final. They have more stability at QB this year than they had last year. I love them getting Duron Carter back. This guy straight up makes plays, and usually big ones at that. Adding him and Kenny Stafford to an already solid group of receivers, make this arguably the best receiving corps in the league. They have a strong rushing attack as well with last years leading rusher, Tyrell Sutton, back at running back. Boris Bede is a more than capable kicker who has a huge leg. Stefan Logan gives them a dangerous kick returner in the special teams game. Lastly, but most importantly, I love the way they play defense! They added a solid DB in Jovon Johnson, and they also get Bear Woods back who was hurt for all but two games last year. I just feel that (at least on paper) this could very well be the most complete team in the league.
Calgary lost a lot of depth with important players gone on both sides of the ball. We will see how Bo Levi Mitchell fares without Eric Rogers and Jeff Fuller to throw the ball to, and without Jon Cornish running the rock. However, it's the losses of LBs Keon Raymond and Juwan Simpson on defense, and the loss of Rich Stubler as defensive coordinator that make me believe I have a winner with this under.
A lot of things went right for the Ottawa Redblacks last season. Nobody on their o-line got hurt last season. That is pretty much unheard of during the course of a pro football season. Other teams in the East suffered injuries to key players as well. Mostly, I don't know how seriously teams took this Ottawa team last year. It is possible that they snuck up on teams because of their 2-16 expansion season in 2014. I don't see any team looking past them this season. We will find out quickly how much Jason Maas meant to this offense as coordinator last season. Lastly, they took some major hits on their defense in the offseason. They pretty much had to overhaul this defense.
GET THAT CASH!!!
