Looking forward to this exciting new season which is just over a week away. I was looking at the season win totals and just had to bet this because personally believe it is a massive over-reaction by the books and will explain why I like this play. The play is
Montreal Alouettes Under 10.5 wins: +115
This is their schedule this season:
vs Riders
@ Eskimos
vs Lions
vs Stampeders
@ Redblacks
@ Bombers
vs Argos
@ Argos
vs Bombers
vs Redblacks
@ Lions
vs Redblacks
@ Argos
@ Stampeders
vs Eskimos
vs Tiger Cats
@ Riders
@ Tiger Cats
Yes they get to play the Argo's 3 times this season who I have absolutely no hope at all this season but they have a difficult schedule no doubt. IMHO, the top teams will be like last season, Lions, Stamps, Eskimos and the Bombers with the Riders improving and also the Tiger Cats as long as Masoli stays away from the field and Collaros stays fit. Know we all know how important a decent QB is in this league and they have Durant, Adams, Shiltz and Jacory Harris so if Durant goes down, then I don't like their chances with their back-ups against quality teams with quality QB's. So lets say they beat the Argo's all 3 times, it means they still need to win 7 more games against the other teams which is a tough ask IMHO.
Last season they won 7 games, can they win 4 more than last year? Maybe but I don't think so.
So I also checked through SDQL to make sure I am not making a crazy decision with this bet.
The SDQL database goes back to 2007 and since then, only a handful of teams have won 7 games or less the season before to then return and win 11 or more that following season in reg season.
Those teams were
Lions 2007
Stampeders 2008
Eskimos 2014
Redblacks 2015
Lions 2016
The one thing I noticed as well with the above 5 teams, 4 out of those 5 teams are from the West conference which we all know is the better out of the 2 conferences. I really don't see how this team can turn their poor season around so quickly. Yes they have upgraded their QB situation and their offense, their defense and other things around the club/team but I think this is just too many wins for this team.

Not many times in a season can you call a bet with 6 weeks to go but the Alouettes are sitting on 3 wins with only 6 games to go so they will not be able to get over the 10.5 wins per season..
Next up.
Calgary Stampeders to win it all +225
Everything about this team this season seems to be different. Messam is playing out of his mind, Bo Levi Mitchell is sometimes pain to watch with his passing but no matter what, he gets the job done. Last weekend vs the Lions he threw just over 50% yet they still got the win by double digits. Even the week before that on the road in Edmonton, he was struggling but they get the win. They just seem to get the job done. His receivers are awesome as well and linebacker Alex Singleton. This guy is just a beast right now. We have 6 games to go in the reg season and the Stampeders play @ Riders, vs Alouettes, @ Tiger Cats, vs Riders, @ Eskimos and they finish off at home to the Bombers. Tough games against those Western rivals but they will take care of the Alouettes and Cats. They hold a 5 points lead over the Bombers but the Bombers do have a game in hand. Regardless, I think the Stamps can hold down 1st spot in the West and then do what they need to do to get into the Grey Cup and win in Ottawa on 26th November.
