I love the Bombers in this spot...neither team has anything to play for as the Als have clinched and the Bombers are out, but this is the last game at Canad Stadium and obviously their last home game of the season.
Als have announced they are sitting Calvillo from the start, which shows they really don't care at all about this game. McPherson is starting for the Als, and as good as he can be for them in the short yardage situations, I don't see him effectively commanding an offence for an entire game. I'm sure the backups will be trying to impress (as with the Argos), but Winnipeg will have the home crowd boost, as well as the climate on their side.
Bombers are starting Brink, who lost his job to Elliot after Pierce went out this season. Also, they're other backup Justin Goltz will get some snaps, really turning this into a tryout for next season. With such a disappointing season, you have to think the Bombers are all going to be coming out to give their fans a big win, say goodbye to their stadium in style and make an impression on their coaches for the next year.
