Can someone please explain how you score 1 pt in the CFL? Tried to look it up in Wikipedia...

Hi,&#xD;&#xA;Had Argos 2nd half and they won by the hook with those two 1 pt plays in the 3rd and 4th quarters.  American here, understand TD is 7 and FG is 3, but how do teams score 1 point in this league?  Seems like one came off a missed FG and the other from a punt?  Tried to look it up on Wikipedia, but the info was lacking...&#xD;&#xA;Thanks!

In the CFL a team can score a point anytime they:

kick the ball through the end zone (missed field goal, punt, kickoff)

down the other teams returner in the end zone (missed field goal, punt, kickoff)

I believe this rule was implemented to promote punt/kickoff returns.

In CFL, one point is scored against team (receiving kicked ball) that fails to run ball out of endzone.

It&#x27;s also known as a "rouge" and I wish they would abolish it. Brutal way of scoring that has screwed many an otherwise good betting slip.

Coverlane is right, with the exception of a kickoff. If this goes through the back of the endzone without being fielded, I don't think this is a point (receiving team gets it at their 25 yard line).

But as others have said the endzone is live and if the kick/punt returner does not get it out of the endzone they concede a point.
