I probably won't be breaking any news with the reason(s) why I like the Riders on Sunday. It's simple: Redemption.
Let's go back to last year's Grey Cup. The Riders came into the game as significant underdogs. They played the Als very tough and actually had a 16 point lead in the 4th quarter when it all came apart. The Als scored two TD's to cut it to 14. Then with less than a minute left the Als set themselves up in FG range with no time on the clock. Montreal attempted the game winning FG down 27-25 and Damon Duval missed from 40+ yards, the Riders win! But NO! There's a flag.....too many men for Saskatchewan! It's a 10 yard penalty and a re kick. Duval smokes the kick right down the middle as the Als win 28-27 with zeros on the clock. The Riders go from ecstasy to gut wrenching heartbreak in a matter of seconds as the Als run past them to celebrate a win the Riders should have had. Saskatchewan completely gift wrapped Montreal their Grey Cup.
Again, I didn't break any news with that last paragraph as I'm sure we all remember it vehemently in our minds and I'm sure we all remember the heartbreak. Well that heartbreak and emotion is what the Roughriders have been living with for the past year. They were the butt of jokes around the sporting world as their gaff may have been the most heartbreaking way to ever lose a Championship whether it be peewee or professional.
Flash forward to this season. The Riders have overcome a sloppy second half of the year and have battled their way into the Grey Cup Final again determined to win the big game. And on the other side they find the very same team who stole the Grey Cup from the Riders last season. Now it is the Riders who will try their damnedest to get back what they believe is rightfully theirs: the Grey Cup. All of the jokes, the heartbreak, the pain that this organization has had to deal with for the last year will come bubbling up to the surface on Sunday in Edmonton as the Saskatchewan Roughriders will play harder and want more than any team has wanted a championship in quite sometime. They have had to watch the Als be described as "defending Grey Cup Champs" all year long knowing full well they handed Montreal that Cup on a silver platter. On Sunday the Riders will try to reclaim what they should have had one year ago. Redemption, baby!
Throw all the stats and all the crap out the window. Saskatchewan will win this game because their lives depend on it. Two minor factors:
1. The Als stink in the big game. How many choke jobs have these guys put in over the years in the Grey Cup? Too many to count. They were gift wrapped a win last year in a game they should have lost as 10 point favorites.
2. This in all likelihood will feel like a home game for Saskatchewan as the crowd should be 90% Rider Nation.
I took a small piece of +5.5 earlier but most of my action is on various ML bets ranging in price from +186 to +150.
GL, sad to see the season go.

Done. By the way, I checked Starr's column this week. Inspiration, but no plagiarism.
I cannot bet against the Als. Just too emotionally invested in them to bet against them. Not smart I know, but this is the big one, not a game in July.
If it was a climate controlled game like the Superbowl, I would say Als by two touchdowns. In the cold of Edmonton? I think it comes down to Cahoon and Cobourne carrying the load.
If humilation was a big factor in winning the big game on the next try, the Bills would have at least one trophy in their case.
I plan on putting small plays on the Als ML (1,70 with SBG) and Under 51. But really small plays, because I want to enjoy the game.
Incidentally, Nick Parsons has a pick on the game. Nice to see a Covers Expert paying attention to the CFL.
Good luck to you today. Roughies are my Western team, but today they are the object of my wrath!

I hated the -3,5, and there was no option to buy points on either of my books. Still, I bit. This is why I hate betting on my teams. They won, and still I was pissed.
Duval absolutely blew today. He almost lost the game for the Als by himself. Amazing to think that two years ago, this guy was being touted as a possible NFL prospect.
Only started to follow you recently, Andarmac. Been a pleasure.
